Interpretation:
The difference between malnutrition and undernourishment has to be given.
Concept introduction:
Malnutrition:
It occurs due to an unbalanced, inadequate in-take of micronutrients and macronutrients. Malnutrition refers to an abnormal physiological condition which has the symptoms like lack of appetite, loss of fat, tiredness etc.
Undernourishment:
It is a condition results from poor absorption which includes underweight, stunting and wasting etc.
Explanation of Solution
Different abnormal conditions will arise by the lack of proper eating.
Malnutrition and Undernourishment are two problems regarding our diet and the way we eat.
If we eat a diet which lacks the correct mix of nutrients, but having adequate energy content, then an abnormal physiological condition called malnutrition arises.
Undernourishment is defined as the condition which is due to the insufficient energy content of the food eaten.

- An adult female goes on a diet that provides 1200 kcal per day with no more than 25% from fat and no more than 30% of that fat being saturated fat. How much saturated fat, in grams, is permitted in this diet?arrow_forwardDiscuss the use of chemical preservatives in food.arrow_forwardThere are roughly 17 nutrients required by plants. (14 mineral nutrients, 3 come from air and water) List the secondary nutrients.arrow_forward
- how does that instruction at a gym compare to the education and training a Registered Dietitian has to complete before helping people with their dietary habits?arrow_forwardOne of the most common types of kidney stones are composed of calcium oxalate. In addition to calcium oxalate another product is also formed in the formation of kidney stones in the body. Certain foods are high in oxalate and lead to an increase of forming kidney stones in the human body. These high-risk foods are as follows: Spinach Swiss Chard Almonds (nuts in general) Sesame Seeds Soy Products (such as soy-based milk, cheese, yogurt) Sweet Potatoes Okra Beets Chocolate Black Tea Another risk factor to developing kidney stones is not drinking enough water. Males have a higher chance than females of developing kidney stones, with the average age being 30. Oxalate in food binds to calcium during digestion in the stomach and intestines and then is excreted in the body as waste. If too much oxalate appears in the urine and not enough liquid (due to not drinking enough water), then calcium oxalate crystals form, which are the kidney stone. A 35 year old male was taken to the hospital…arrow_forwardOne of the most common types of kidney stones are composed of calcium oxalate. It’s because they produce copious amounts of oils from their uropygial glands and spread it across their feathers. In this exercise, we’ll be investigating the molecular structure of one of these preen oils to determine how it keeps ducks dry.arrow_forward
