Interpretation:
Although coal is an important fuel for producing electricity, it also has drawbacks. Any three drawbacks of coal has to be listed out.
Concept Introduction:
A fuel is a substance which releases energy in the form of heat while undergoing combustion. Hydrocarbons which have high heats of combustion make it a best fuel.
Coal is a good fuel becouse it is completely made up of carbon atoms. It is a fossil fuel.
Coals can be classified and graded according to the carbon percent and the impurity percent such as sulfur.
Anthracite coal has high carbon content.
Global warming is a serious environmental issue, in which there is an increase in the overall temperature of the earth by various factors.
Greenhouse gases are one type of gas which traps the heat within the system and thus it increases the overall temperature of the earth resulting global warming.

- The best solar panels currently available are about 15% efficient in converting sunlight to electricity. A typical home will use about 40. kWh of electricity per day (1 kWh = 1 kilowatt hour; 1kW = 1000 J/s). Assuming 8.0 hours of useful sunlight per day, calculate the minimum solar panel surface area necessary to provide all of a typical homes electricity. - The citizens of the world burn the fossil fuel equivalent of 7 * 1012 kg of petroleum per year. Assume that all of this petroleum is in the form of octane (C8H18) and calculate how much CO2 (in kg) the world produces from fossil fuel combustion per year.
