Answer to Problem 1RQ

Old astronomical facilities was not sufficient to observe faint stars with less amount of light is observed.

Explanation of Solution

Most stars in northern hemisphere is so bright. Large amount of light will reach our eyes rom bright starts. So it was possible to easily identify and study them even with instruments with low resolution and power or even with naked eyes.. Ancient Greeks dominated in astronomy before the scientific revolution. With very limited accuracy instruments and facilities, they invented the bright stars in northern hemisphere.

The amount of light reaching eyes from faint stars is very less. So in order to observe them, more technologically advanced instruments with greater accuracy and resolution was required. This happen with modern scientific culture produced as part of European civilization. Galileo and newton has made a major contribution in this development. So, with modern technology, it is possible to observe faint stars in norther hemisphere too.

Therefore, the old astronomical facilities was not sufficient to observe faint stars with less amount of light is observed.
