The brain is considered the most complex organ in the body. It is responsible for controlling motor function, the body’s ability to balance and the ability to translate information sent to the brain by sensory organs. The mind is described as the faculty of consciousness and thought. It’s where our feeling and emotions originate from and defines who we are as a person. In “Becoming a Critic Of Your Thinking” found at criticalthinking.org, Dr. Linda Elder and Dr. Richard Paul explain critical thinking as “the disciplined art of ensuring that you use the best thinking you are capable of in any set of circumstances”. Even tough there are many different types of methods to achieve a better quality of critical thinking, Dr. Elder and Dr. Paul discuss four specific ones in the article. All strategies, however, force you to put yourself in an uncomfortable and difficult position to develop a better quality of thinking.

California Critical Thinking Disposition Inventory (CCTDI) was implemented in order to collect quantitative data, and this particular inventory was designed to measure the disposition to think critically. Open-ended interviews were implemented to access candidates’ opinions regarding the method applied within the course, and independent t-test (or statistical hypothesis test) samples along with paired t-test samples were used to analyze quantitative data. Results indicated candidates had a positive outlook regarding the Moodle platform’s online argumentation application and the improvement it provided in critical thinking skills.
