1-2 Journal: Organizational Change Effort
Done Well
I am now experiencing change at my current organization. My organization has been implementing new systems and changes to structures and policies for the past four months. The changes they have implemented that have been done well in terms of upgrades has been the technology system, some of the upgrades have shown better and more efficient ways to perform and take care of the patients faster. Also, the self-service implementation is a help, not only to the employees but also to our consumers as they are able to obtain information from the app without having to waste their time calling. These improvements have somehow helped employees have a smoother day and perform better their day-to-day duties.
Done Poorly
However, the way they have done these implementations were with poor training, information, communication, and lack of resources. These changes seem to have been made by someone who knows nothing about what our organization does and how it operates, as they have not taken into considerations many areas that can affect the success of these changes. They did not communicate well the purpose or the reason as to why these changes were being done and so employees felt lost, confused, and out of the loop. When they did communicate, they would so its last minute and without information required to answer the questions the employees had at the moment. Lastly, they lack resources, the training was completed also last minute and in a week without caring who gets it or not and again without providing those who don’t understand with the right resources and information. These issues have become a concern to all of us in the organization because it felt as if we were set up for failure and not success. Many employees expressed concern about performing their jobs effectively.

Starbucks unleashed "My Starbucks Idea" in 2008. The goal was to give customers an easy way to submit their

made it into Starbucks stores around the world. Some of the highlights include: the new Hazelnut Machiatto flavor, a
free treat for birthdays, and even the iconic green splash sticks that are now on the self-service counter by the
napkins and sleeves. All of this came from hearing out what customers wanted and making the necessary changes.
Promotional items are always valuable, whether they're offered for free or sold in a gift shop. Starbucks knows all
about that value with their eye-catching custom travel mugs, tumblers, and ceramic mugs. They change these up
every season, keeping things interesting for their dedicated fans. Today, the Starbucks mugs are some of the most
