(Partition of a list) Write the following method that partitions the list using the first element, called a pivot:
public static int partition(int[] list)
After the partition, the elements in the list are rearranged so all the elements before the pivot are less than or equal to the pivot, and the elements after the pivot are greater than the pivot. The method returns the index where the pivot is located in the new list. For example, suppose the list is {5, 2, 9, 3, 6, 8}. After the partition, the list becomes {3, 2, 5, 9, 6, 8}. Implement the method in a way that takes at most list. length comparisons. See liveexample.pearsoncmg.com/dsanimation/ QuickSortNeweBook.html for an animation of the implementation. Write a test

Write the following method that returns true if the list is already sorted in increasing order. public static boolean isSorted(int[] list) Write a test program that prompts the user to enter a list and displays whether the list is sorted or not. Here is a sample run. Note that the first number in the input indicates the number of the elements in the list. This number is not part of the list.arrow_forwardnarmts Save Answer Write a Java program that uses ArrayList and Iterator. It should input from user the names and ages of your few friends in a loop and add into ArrayList. Finally, it should use Iterator to display the data in a proper format. (Hint- Lecture 02: Slide 8) Sample output: List of my Friends Enter name and age [friend# oj Khalid Al-shamri 22.5 Do you want to add another friend (y/n)? y Enter name and age [friend# 1] Rahsed Al-anazi 21.1 Do you want to add another friend (y/n)? y Enter name and age [friend# 2] Salem Al-mutairi 23.7 Do you want to add another friend (y/n)? n Here is the data you entered: 0. Khalid Al-shamri, 22.5 1. Rahsed Al-anazi, 21.1 2. Salem Al-mutairi, 23.7arrow_forwardTopic: Singly Linked ListImplement the following functions in C++ program. Read the question carefully. (See attached photo for reference) int count(int num) This will return the count of the instances of the element num in the list. In the linked list in removeAll method, having the method count(10) will return 3 as there are three 10's in the linked list. Additionally, you are to implement these methods: bool move(int pos1, int pos2) This method will move the element at position pos1 to the position specified as pos2 and will return true if the move is successful. This will return false if either the specified positions is invalid. In the example stated, operating the method move(1, 3) will move the 1st element and shall now become the 3rd element. The linked list shall now look like: 30 -> 40 -> 10 -> 50 int removeTail() This method will remove the last element in your linked list and return the said element. If the list is empty, return 0. You can use the…arrow_forward
- Topic: Singly Linked ListImplement the following functions in C++ program. Read the question carefully. (See attached photo for reference) void isEmpty() This method will return true if the linked list is empty, otherwise return false. void clear() This method will empty your linked list. Effectively, this should and already has been called in your destructor (i.e., the ~LinkedList() method) so that it will deallocate the nodes created first before deallocating the linked list itself.arrow_forward6. the grade is under 20 which is outlier, remove it from the array list. 7. Print the values of the array list using Iterator class. 12.. Delete all the values of the array list using clear function. 13. Print all the values of the array after you execute clear using System.out.println(). what is the result of using clear function? 14. What is the shortcoming of using array List?arrow_forwardflip_matrix(mat:list)->list You will be given a single parameter a 2D list (A list with lists within it) this will look like a 2D matrix when printed out, see examples below. Your job is to flip the matrix on its horizontal axis. In other words, flip the matrix horizontally so that the bottom is at top and the top is at the bottom. Return the flipped matrix. To print the matrix to the console: print('\n'.join([''.join(['{:4}'.format(item) for item in row]) for row in mat])) Example: Matrix: W R I T X H D R L G L K F M V G I S T C W N M N F Expected: W N M N F G I S T C L K F M V H D R L G W R I T X Matrix: L C S P Expected: S P L C Matrix: A D J A Q H J C I Expected: J C I A Q H A D Jarrow_forward
- - Question-2: Functions, Iterations and List • Write a function that takes a positive integer n as its parameter. • Return a list whose o values are numbers between n and 2n.arrow_forward] ] get_nhbr In the cell below, you are to write a function called "get_nhbr(Ist, graph)" that takes in two inputs: a list of vertices and a graph. The function is to return a list that contains the neighborhood of the vertices in 'Ist' (remember that this means you are finding the union of the individual vertices' neighborhoods). + Code + Markdown After compiling the above cell, you should be able to compile the following cell and obtain the desired outputs. print (get_nhbr(["A", "D"], {"A" : ["B"], "B" : ["A", "D", "E"], "C" : ["E"], "D":["B"], "E":["B","C","F"], "F":["E"]}), get_nhbr(["B", "C", "F"], {"A" : ["B"], "B" : ["A", "D", "E"], "C" : ["E"], "D":["B"], "E":["B","C","F"], "F":["E"]})) This should return ["B"] ["A", "D", "E"] Python Pythonarrow_forwardB1. - @6 The Reference-based Linked Lists: Select all of the following statements that are true. options: As a singly linked list's node references both its predecessor and its successor, it is easily possible to traverse such a list in both directions. According to the terminology introduced in class, the head reference variable in a singly linked list object references the list's first node. According to the terminology introduced in class, in a doubly linked list, each node references both the head and tail node. In a double-ended singly linked list, the tail reference variable provides access to the entire list. In a circular linked list, the last node references the first node.arrow_forwardLAB RESTRICTIONS, PLEASE READ: Do not add any imports, the ones that you need will be given to you. You may not use any dictionaries or dictionary methods. Do not use try-except statements, you should be able to anticipate or prevent any errors from happening at all!arrow_forwardremove_from_list(my_list, indices): Takes two lists as input. Creates a new list from the first input list by removing the elements at indices given by the integers in the second input list, then return the new list. The indices in the second input list may have any order. For example, if the first input list is [4, 8, 12, 161, and the second input list is [0, 2], then the new list returned from the function should have the 4 and the 12 removed, because they were at indices 0 and 2 of the original list. Note: You do not need to consider negative indices for this function. >> remove_from_list(['abc', 'def', 'ghi'], [1]) ['abc', 'ghi'] >>> strs = ['The', 'quick', 'brown', 'fox'] >>> remove_from_list(strs, [0, 3]) ['quick', 'brown'] >>> strs ['The', 'quick', 'brown', 'fox'] # original list is unchanged >> remove_from_list(['The', 'quick', 'brown', 'fox'], [3, 0]) ['quick', 'brown'] find_last(my_list, x): Takes two inputs: the first being a list and the second being any type.
