Learning to program means learning how to solve problems using code. Conceptually it is not very difficult to write a program that solves a problem that you can solve yourself. The skill you need to acquire is thinking very precisely about how you solve the problem and breaking it down into steps that are so simple that a computer can execute them. I encourage you to first solve a few instances of a problem by hand and think about what you did to find the solution. For example if the task is sorting lists, sort some short lists yourself. A reasonable method would be to find the smallest element, write it down and cross it out of the original list and repeat this process until you have sorted the whole list. Then you have to teach the computer 1) how to find the smallest element, 2) how to write it down, 3) how to cross it out, and wrap this in a loop. Then continue this task breakdown process until you’re confident you know how to write the necessary program.
Course Level Programming Assignment - Programming a Calculator using Python
In this assignment you will write a computer program from scratch using the Python programming language. This program will function as a simple calculator.
Objectives
Write a simple Python program that performs arithmetic operations based on the user input
Stage 1: A simple calculator
Your calculator should provide the following arithmetic and control operations.
Arithmetic Operations
Addition (+) add(a,b)
Subtraction (-) subtract(a,b)
Multiplication (*) multiply(a,b)
Division (/) divide(a,b)
Power (^) power(a,b)
Remainder (%) remainder(a,b)
Control Operations
Terminate (#)
Reset ($)
Write a function select_op(choice) to select the appropriate mathematics function based on the users selection.
The behavior of the program should be as follows:
The program should ask the user to specify the desired operation…
Friend's Party Circle:
There are a few friends living in the same area. They have a party every weekend and the place of
party change each week. It is always a difficult task to select a place which is nearest for everyone.
They all decided to take advantage of Computer Science to solve this problem.
Names of friends are Ahmed, Rehman. Careem. Basit. Dawood. Ghani, and Farid. Ahmed lives at
5 minutes' walk from rehman and at 10 minutes' walk from Careem. Careem lives at 3 minutes'
walk from Dawood. Rehman lives at 4 minutes' walk from Basit and 2 minutes' walk from Dawood.
Dawood lives at two minutes' walk from Farid. Ghani lives at 2 minutes' walk from Basit.
a. If we represent a graph G = V (V, E) in which set of vertices are home of each Friend and
an edge represents a path between two homes. Provide the adjacency matrix of directed
graph of the graph G.
b. In above directed graph G. You are required to devise an algorithm to find all possible
paths.

- Skydiving Bibi is a skydiving instructor. Before carrying out skydiving activities, Bibi will always ask the name, height, and age of the participants. Bibi's participants is always 2 people. To make it easier to remember their identities, Bibi gave them a paper to write down their identity. But because they are very enthusiastic in doing skydiving, they write their identity in a single line only (for both of the participants), so it wasn't quite neat and it made difficult for Bibi to see it, and resulted in the skydiving process being disturbed. As one of the organizer committee, you do not want this activity to be disturbed and plan to provide a program that provides their identity neatly to Bibi. Format Input Input consists of 1 line. It contains the identity of 2 people in a row Ni, Ti, Ui - the name, height, and age of the i-th participant. Format Output The output consists of 6 lines. The first line, "Name 1: N1". The second line, "Height 1: T1". The third line, "Age: U1". For…arrow_forwardRead the following story and find the ethical wrongs in it. Mention and describe in your words those wrongs. The second programmer exchanged similar information about two of his projects and clients. Moreover, The second programmer suggested a solution for his fellow programmer. - Java code The Seattle Party Cruise Company owns a fleet of boats that they use to host parties on Lake Washington and Lake Union. A customer books a boat for an evening event, and the company provides the sailing and serving crew and all the necessary food and drink for the event. The customer tells the company how many people will be attending, and the company must calculate how much food and drink to purchase and bring on board for the evening. The problem is that the company's employees have been calculating badly, sometimes running out before the end of the evening, and sometimes ending up with a lot left over. So, you have been hired by the Seattle Party Cruise Company to write a program to help employees properly stock their cruise boats for any given event. You need to write a command-line program that asks the employee how many adults, teenagers, and children will be attending the event. The program should then calculate how many soft drinks, glasses of champagne, slices of…arrow_forwardDesign Assignment: Texas Hold 'em poker game 2 to 8 human or computer players Each player has a name and stack of chips Computer players have a difficulty setting: easy, medium, hard Summary of each hand: Dealer collects ante from appropriate players, shuffles the deck, and deals each player a hand of 2 cards from the deck. Meteorologists use the following formula to compute the windchill factor, W: W = 35.74 + 0.6215 × T - 35.75 × V0.16 + 0.4275 × T × V0.16 where V is the wind speed in miles per hour and T is the temperature in degrees Fahrenheit. Instructions Write a program that prompts the user to input the wind speed in miles per hour, and the temperature in degrees Fahrenheit. The program then outputs the current temperature and the windchill factor. Your program must contain at least two functions: one to get the user input and the other to determine the windchill factor.arrow_forward

There are three types of rooms that customers might have: square, rectangle and circle. Yes, some people have houses with rooms that are circles. The program should ask for the customer’s name and address. Then ask for the dimensions of the room, in feet. It should then determine the cost to put flooring in the room. We compute flooring based upon the area of the room in square feet. Flooring material costs $2.00 per square feet and installation costs $1.50 per square foot. The equations for calculating the square footage of rooms are as follows: • Square: area = side1 ^ 2 • Rectangle: area = side1 * side2 • Circle: area = radius ^ 2 * pi Once the user has entered the information, the program should print out the customer information. Then it should print the total square feet in the room followed by the estimate for the materials and…arrow_forwardgetting error please helparrow_forward
