Chapter 23, Problem 2TYU
Summary Introduction

Introduction: In 1969, R.H. Whittaker proposed a classification system with five kingdoms (Protista, Fungi, Plantae, Monera, and Animalia) based on the structure of cells and the way organisms obtain nutrition from its surroundings. Carl Woese and his colleagues in 1977 proposed three domain biological classifications. This classification divides organisms into Archaea, Eukarya, and Bacteria domains.
