Program Plan Intro

Primary storage:

• Primary storage refers to Random Access Memory (RAM).
• It stores data that is directly accessed by Central Processing Unit (CPU).
• It is used to capture and retain digital information that is active and critical for an organization’s operations.

Secondary storage:

• Secondary storage is used for data that is less frequently accesses or no longer accessed.
• It is also referred to as data at rest since secondary data is infrequently accessed and it has limited uses.
• Secondary data consists of devices that are used to store backup data and also rarely accessed data.
