Elasticity:

It is the property by which the object retrieves its original form on removal of applied force.

Plasticity:

It is the tendency of a substance to undergo permanent deformation while a load is applied to it.

At a micro level, the objects are very small. Hence, the object does not experience deformation effortlessly on use of force. Plasticity is lesser than its elasticity.

At a macro level, deformation is estimated by the Hooke’s law. As indicated by this law, stress is proportional to strain within an elastic limit. Materials for which this law is appropriate are called as linearly elastic materials.
