Answer to Problem 28R

There are various conditions which are required for two molecules to react such as, the contact should be close, presence of heat or light, mixing should be done, and change in temperature.

Explanation of Solution

Introduction:

Two or more molecules can react with each other under some circumstances such as, heat, close contact, molecules mixing, temperature etc.

There are various conditions which are required for the two molecules to react with each other. Some of the conditions are discussed below:

  • Molecules react with each other if come in a close contact.
  • When they react with each other then heat is ether absorbed or released according to the type of the reaction.
  • Temperature is also changed by mixing the molecules with each other. Due to collisions, heat is involved due to which change in temperature takes place.
  • Molecules should collide with each other in a proper orientation.

Conclusion:

Thus, two molecules can only react with each other they satisfy one of the above conditions.
