Introduction:
Cohesive force is nothing but the property of molecules that sticks together. They are a mutually attractive force in nature.
Cohesive forces in a liquid pull together the molecules in the liquid drop to the spherical shape by force. Lesser is the cohesive force in a liquid, more quickly does the evaporation takes place.
For alcohol, the coherent forces are weak as contrasted to those in water. This is why the alcohol evaporates faster than water does at the same temperature.
