The 1952 film Hans Christian Andersen stars Danny Kaye as the Danish writer of fairy tales. In a scene outside a schoolhouse window. Kaye sings a song to an inchworm. Inchworm was written for the film by the composer Frank Loesser and has been recorded by many artists, including Paul McCartney and Kenny Loggins. It was once featured on an episode of The Muppets and sung by Charles Aznavour.
As Kaye sings the song, the children in the school room are heard chanting addition facts:
