Chapter 11, Problem 3SI
Explanation of Solution
Extent of interference of computerized medical system, that is to be allowed in the decision making of the physician:
- A computer sytem decision making can be used by a physician, for increasing his efficiency in treatment of disease.
- For risky and complicated disesase there is no peron to take resposbilty for the decision provided by the computer system,so the system should have least interference.
- The computer system might be capable of producing faster and more efficient decision than the physician, but the system do not have an identity that can take resposibbilty.
Whether the physician is guilty for malpractice, incase the physician applies a tereatment contrary to proposed by the computer system, and the computer system turns out to be rtight:
- In case the treatment provided by the physician is a blunder, than the physician is guilty for malpractice.
- In the condition the chances of correctness of the decision can not be known before the out come of the result.
- Than, there is equal probability for both thecomputer system and the phy sician to be correct...

- Even an objective computer software can struggle with judging rules. The official rules of football (or soccer, as some people call it) state that the referee may allow play to continue "when the team against which an offence has been committed will benefit from such an advantage" and may penalise "the original offence if the anticipated advantage does not ensue at that time" (Federation Internationale de Football Association 2003).How would you put this rule into action? - In order to simulate an artificial intelligence system, what is the most effective technique to make use of functional decomposition?arrow_forwardThe application of logic is a fundamental aspect of Formal Methods. Propositional and predicate logics are commonly encountered in a conceptual sense. A student pursuing a degree in discrete mathematics at the undergraduate level intends to utilize propositional and predicate logics for the purpose of software testing. Assist this individual. - C.W. Churchman once said that "Mathematics...tends to lull the unsuspecting that he who thinks elaborately thinks well." Do you think that the best QA Models are the ones that are most elaborate and complex Mathematically? Why?arrow_forwardIn at least one paragraph reply to the following: "Artificial Intelligence (AI) is when a computer or robot is designed or programmed to perform tasks by itself as a human would because the actions that are being performed require human intelligence. A computer can indeed be programmed to think for itself. In fact, think of an auto-pilot plane or a self-driving car. These vehicles must be programmed to think about stopping, turning, accelerating, etc. without anyone pushing a button telling it to do so. These types of vehicles are becoming more and more popular and every now and then, you might see someone on the highway sleeping in the drivers seat because their car (probably a Tesla) is doing the driving for them because it is programmed to think for itself, or drive by itself. Another example in the industry where AI comes into play is gaming. In most games, there are actually computer players called "AI's" that act exactly as another player.
