Serial Killer: (n) A serial killer is a person who murders three or more people, usually in service of abnormal psychological gratification; ex. Charles Albright. His childhood was quite unusual, being that he started out life as an orphan and was adopted by foster parents Delle and Fred Albright. It is said that his mother was extremely strict and overprotective, which caused him to have little to no friends. Charles was never a very social child. He did exceptionally well in school and was even able to skip two grades. He got his first gun at thirteen and proceeded to kill small animals with it as a taxidermist, or in other words, he kept the hollow corpses of the animals he hunted and stuffed them to be lifelike memorabilia. Susan Peterson, prostitute with unknown age or residence, was viciously murdered on February 10, 1991, also unconvicted but popularly believed by Charles Albright. She had bruises, a broken nose, and three shots to the top of her head, the back of her head, and to her left breast. She was also found near nude. Her eyes were removed and stolen. Shirley Williams, prostitute with unknown age or residence but believed to have lived near a school, was mercilessly murdered on March 18, 1991, by and convicted to Charles Albright. She was shot once through her head, with her eyes removed and stolen; Charles' hair was found at the murder scene. Charles' childhood played a big part in his going irrevocably insane, suggesting that he was forcibly isolated by his mother. I believe that the significance of removing the victims' eyes was that since no one "witnessed the murder," Charles believed he was innocent. Psychology is interesting in the fact that it has an explanation for all things mental, including the mentally deranged. His committing of theft and sexual molestation is a sign of wanting to be attached to someone or thing. Prostitutes being his only three victims are also a factor of this theory.
