2-2 Report: Financial Justification
Included in this report, you will find several charts comparing options A and options B. these charts will be used to determine which company should be acquistioned over the other. The
charts will show total sales, gross margins and the R&D and captial costs. This data provides a visual when making a choice on which company to acquire.
Using this data, both companies appear to be similar, with a few minor differences. However, option A had more total sales in the last year, than option B did. Additionally, when it came to the gross margin, option A totaled higher at 46.86861 while option B totaled at 43.2001. While option B started out higher in the R&D and Capital costs, they have been on par with option A. The recommendation is for the company to purhcase option A, as their current data is similar to option B, if not better overall. This would be the better investment for the company.

Competitor analysis. The competitor analysis report is a detailed investigation into your close competitor(s) and your firm. Use the Competitor Analysis Report (Appendix) format to do an analysis of your firm's own competitive situation. Your grade includes a consideration of the thoroughness and usefulness of your graphics, but not the "fanciness." I really don't care if you do some graphs by hand, as long as they are neat and get the key point across. If any of the questions in the Competitor Analysis Format are not relevant, just give a brief sentence explaining why. (For example, if you have never competed in Private Label, you may just state briefly why you do not participate in private label and why you consider the trends in that market not relevant for your firm.) Remember that graphs are an excellent format for condensing complex information into a meaningful format. Be thoughtful about how to best highlight the points of interest for each component of the…
