Define the terms sample size, random sampling, population, and lot size.
Explanation of Solution
Sample size: As the name suggests, it is essentially the quantity of parts in a sample that need to be inspected. To obtain information about properties of the complete population, parts that are included in the sample are studied.
Random sampling: In this, a sample is selected from a given population where the all the items have equal probability of getting selected.
Population: It is also called universe and it includes the total number of parts that are similar from which a sample is selected.
Lot size: It is the subset of the population where more than one lot can be included in the subsets. They can be reflect the population.

Systematic Random Sampling b. Stratified Random Sampling c. Random Sampling 3. Why do researchers prefer the use of probability techniques? Simplearrow_forwardI tried 33.7oC and also 50.517oC but it still says it is incorrect (view attached screenshot). I appreciate your efforts, but unfortunately it says it is still wrong. Any more ideas of what the correct answer might be? I really want to understand how to solve this problem correctly. Thank you!arrow_forwardQuestions Finite Element Method (FEM) is a great tool to analytical engineering, mostly in mechanical Engineering and Nondestructive testing applications; Finite Element Method cannot exist without the model Data from Computer Aided Draughting. The connection of Computer aided Draughting (CAD) and Finite Element Analysis (FEA) cannot be under played in solving and making predictive analysis. Explain the following school of thought using following set of questions: • What is Finite Element Method? What is FEA? What is CAD? • Explain the types of Analyses that can carried on FEA and CAD 1 when combined together • How does CAD model data Affect FEA output? • Where or which branch/part of Mechanical Engineering does FEM best suit or most applicable and explain why • FEA can further enhance the design or production of machine part , list and explain the parameter that can be optimized. Also Explain the term design optimization. • What are the benefits of FEA? What is the Demerit of FEA? In…arrow_forward
- The data shown in Table 1 are the deviations from nominal diameter for holes drilled in a carbon-fiber composite material used in aerospace manufacturing. The values reported are deviations from nominal in ten-thousandths of an inch. (a) Set up and R charts on the process. Is the process in statistical control? (b) Estimate the process standard deviation using the range method. (c) If specifications are at nominal ±100, what can you say about the capability of this process? Calculate the PCR Cp Table 1.
