Question 2 You have learned about t-distribution, paired and unpaired data, and how it is appropriate to use them. Answer the following questions based on your learning. 1. Identify an example of paired data and unpaired data. The data identified can be in your field of interest. 2. Describe the data identified above, and clearly highlight what distinguishes them.

based on your learning.
1. Identify an example of paired data and unpaired data. The
data identified can be in your field of interest.

Question 1:
In your work, assume the 5% significance level.
A blood sample was conducted on 56 police officers subjected
to constant inhalation of automobile exhaust fumes while
working traffic enforcement in a urban environment.
Researchers found that the blood samples of these officers
had an average lead concentration of 122.12 µg/l and a SD of
36.64 µg/l; a previous study of individuals from a nearby
suburb, with no history of exposure, found an average blood
level concentration of 33 µg/1.9
(a) Write down the hypotheses that would be appropriate for
testing if the police officers appear to have been exposed to a
different concentration of lead.
(b) Explicitly state and check all conditions necessary for
inference on these data.
(c) Regardless of your answers in part (b), also test the
hypothesis 'the downtown police officers might have a higher
lead exposure than the group in the previous study'. Interpret
your results in context.
o Calculate the T-statistics
o Calculate the degree of freedom
o Given the p-value of 0.025, provide a
conclusion to the hypothesis test
