In my Introduction to Electronics course (300), we often run across division by zero. I know that it is technically undefined (or, at the very least, ambiguous), but sometimes we consider the value to be zero and other times to be infinity, which are, obviously, diametrically different (apart from negative numbers). I'm not so much interested in the nature of division by zero but more in how we determine whether we regard the value as zero or infinity? Again, this is in the context of electronics and circuit analysis, to be more specific. Thank you for your assistance.
