Abortion has been one of the largest disputes for a very long time. Abortion is the action of stopping a pregnancy. Pro-lifers think that if an abortion is performed, then it is considered murder. But they don’t realize that if abortion became illegal, then they would still be performed by people that have no knowledge on how to do one. 47,000 women die from complications from unsafe abortions each year. And this is because they can’t get an abortion done by a real doctor. Is this what pro-lifers want to happen? People that are pro-choice believe that women should have their own choice as to if they want to have an abortion. An example is if a woman gets raped, and becomes pregnant with the rapist’s childs. So she wants to abort the baby because she doesn’t want deal with the pain of raising her rapist’s child. Now, pro-lifers would call the woman a murderer. While pro-choicers would be on the woman’s side. And what if when a woman gets an abortion, she gets stalked by pro-lifers, calling her a murderer because she aborted her baby? …show more content…
So, pro-lifers say every child has the right to live right? But what if an un financially stable mother is forced to keep the baby? Then the baby would struggle along with the mother. The child will not get their everyday needs and can possibly end up dying. Is this what pro-lifers want? So if pro-lifers don’t want this to happen, then they need to come up with a solution to provide the mother with some type of money, to care for the child. Another thing about abortion is that in some states, it has become more expensive. So if a woman cannot terminate her pregnancy, then like said earlier, her and the child problems would only
Abortion has been one of the biggest controversies of all time. Many people believe that women should get to decide what she would do with her body. The definition of abortion is; “The termination of pregnancy by the removal or expulsion from the uterus of a fetus or embryo prior to being capable of normal growth”. Abortion is one of the most controversial topics today. Although there are two sides of the debate pro-choice and pro life, arguments are mainly centered around the Roe v. Wade decision, women’s rights and state restrictive laws.
Pro-Life or Pro-choice is the highly debatable question that is discussed when the topic of abortion is brought up. Abortion is one of many controversial topics in America. Abortion is the early termination of a pregnancy. Merriam Webster’s dictionary defines abortion as; “the termination of a pregnancy after, accompanied by, resulting in, or closely followed by the death of the embryo or fetus: as a: spontaneous expulsion of a human fetus during the first 12 weeks of gestation b: induced expulsion of a human fetus c: expulsion of a fetus by a domestic animal often due to infection at any time before completion of pregnancy (Merriam-Webster).” When a woman elects to end her pregnancy, she has two options depending on how many weeks
Pro-life: may permit abortion if the fetus is confirmed dead within the mother’s womb. This view does not advocate abortion even at the risk of the mother’s health, they believe advancements in medical technology and psychology can save the mother life and the case where the mother’s life cannot be saved, she may have to be
The human race is already overpopulating the earth and pro-lifers would rather bring in another life to this world than not bring one at all. Being pro-choice does not mean a person is pro-abortion. It just means they “advocate abortion over birth,” and try to prevent unwanted pregnancies along with ensuring families will have the necessary health care they need. No one has an abortion for fun. Everyone has their reasons and it’s none of the government’s or anyone else’s business what those reasons are. There are many women who get abortions because of their age, the fetus or themselves wouldn’t survive, and even as a repercussion of sexual assault. Are pro-lifers going to push safe sex, say how if someone doesn’t want a baby then they shouldn’t have sex and then watch as a woman struggles financially to support herself and keep a fetus alive if it wasn’t her choice to have sex in the first place? There is adoption but are you going to leave physical scars, such as stretch marks, on a woman’s body to permanently remind her that she was once taken advantage of or how she was once forced to carry the result of what someone did to her? At Planned Parenthood, before women choose to get an abortion they are given multiple alternatives and also counseling if the woman isn’t sure of her choice. “Abortion gives women the option to choose not to bring fetuses with profound abnormalities to full term as
Meanwhile, women should have the choice on what to do with her body. They should have the right to privacy. Pro-choice supports the teen girls who become pregnant at a young age and they weren’t aware of the result or effect of her actions. The choice of her keeping the child could result into a huge controversy from getting kicked out of her home, won’t be able to financially support the child, lose her education due to taking care of the child and not having anyone there for her. Being pro-choice, she wouldn’t have to deal with these issues. She would have to deal with the emotional aspect of terminating the fetus,
Abortions are a very serious issue that everyone around the world has to hear about or deal with. The fact that they want to make it illegal in the US to have an abortion is not right. Certain states in the US have trigger laws where it’s illegal to get an abortion after the first and second trimesters. It’s illegal to get an abortion in most countries but women still find a way to get an abortion. A legal abortion accordance with the local law is one of the safest procedures in today’s medicine but still has some complications later on. Even though having an illegal abortion is very dangerous, women still go through with it. Having to get a legal
Pro-choice supporters argue that abortion should be viewed as not be immoral, and sometimes a necessary choice a woman must make in order to be in charge of her life. Considering pregnancy from a woman's point of view, it can be very dangerous to
Abortion is one of the most controversial topics of all times. Abortions is defined as the termination of a pregnancy before birth ending in the death of an embryo or fetus. When abortion happens naturally it is called a miscarriage, but when a medical procedure is used to end the pregnancy it is referred to as abortion. (Roberts) People that support women having the legal right to make choices about their reproductive health care are referred to as pro-choice. The term pro-life is used to refer to the people that believe women do not have the right to choose whether or not to continue their pregnancy and they believe abortion is wrong.(Ric) The real issue in this debate is whether or not tighter abortion laws and regulations decrease abortion rates.
Finally, the pro-life supports argue for the decrease or abolishment of abortions because of the danger it puts both the mother and Child in. There are so many dangers that come with abortions; however, the ones pro- life members focus on are elevated risk of death and immediate health risk. As shown in figure I, the total deaths of women, who undergo abortions is greater than the total deaths of
People who are pro-choice believes the privilege to freedom and should have the choice to make their own decisions with what they want to do with their bodies. For instance, a woman is assaulted by a man and winds up pregnant with his kid. She chooses she wouldn't like to keep the baby, so she has a fetus removal in light of the fact that bringing up an offspring of her attacker is excessively agonizing for her. Pro-choice defenders take into account the sensitivities the women may have experienced, while pro-life defenders doesn't understand what she may be going through and consider her to be a
The choice of her keeping the child would result in her getting kicked out of her home, she’d be finically unable to support the baby, and she would lose her education. With abortion she would not have to deal with these issues, though she would have to deal with the emotional aspect of deciding to terminate the fetus. Pro-choice supports the idea she would learn from her mistake and that ultimately it was her choice to do what she wished with her body. The results of the experience for this girl would be social maturity and evolution, rather than a state of repression.
Pro-choice supporters on the other hand have been raised in a higher social class where more than likely both parents, but at least the father, have a college degree. They have pursued college and have married mate equal to themselves. They share beliefs with their mates that they are equal beings and want to give their children the best they can. Hence the fact, they would rather not bring a child into the world without being able to fully provide for the child the way they were provided for.
Those who call themselves ‘pro-life’ believe that, if a woman has an abortion, she is killing her child and, in turn, committing an act of murder. They believe that no matter what stage of the pregnancy the child is in, it is still considered a human being. By getting an abortion, the mother is extinguishing any chance for the child to make any contributions to society and she is taking away its right to life and its right to become someone. They additionally believe that abortion raises the chance of health and psychological quandaries in a woman such as infertility, breast cancer, and an incremented chance of miscarriages in the future. Legalizing abortion sanctions women to take back control of their lives. Because of Roe vs.Wade, abortion is licit and can be performed in the Amalgamated States to a consenting adult or to a minor with parental approbation. “A Sep. 2005 survey in the peer-reviewed journal
Abortion is one of the most debatable and controversial issues that exists in our society. An abortion is a medical procedure that terminates a pregnancy before 24 weeks. People who call themselves Pro-Life feel that it is the government’s responsibility to preserve all life, regardless of concerns for the pregnant woman’s health, or for the quality of the life of the child. The Pro-Choice argument feels that a woman should have the choice when it comes to what they wish to do with their own reproductive organs.
The debate on whether abortion should be legal, or illegal has become a controversial topic that has divided the nation into two. The group of people who don’t see anything wrong with the issue refer to their group as pro-choice supporters. Their main belief about abortion is that because a woman’s body belongs to herself it should be up to her on whether she wants to keep a baby or not. Those who are against abortion and feel it should be illegal think of themselves as pro-life supporters. They believe that a fetus becomes human at conception making abortion murder. In other words, they feel abortion is immoral and should be illegal. People shouldn’t view abortion as killing a baby, it’s much more than that. Abortion is an option for
