What does it mean to be an American? When this question comes to mind many people will have different points of view. Many people tend to classify being American as living in the country called North America. Some people think that being American means to be a person living in a free country. Others may also think that it means to be a person living in a free country, but not having everything come free to you. It's call liberty, which means not everything comes free, and not everything you want at any moment of the day can be done or can be given to you. All Americans can agree that America stand for freedom, equal opportunities, and rights accompanied with responsibilities. Every single person in North America is given the right to their own freedom when they are born. When people are born they automatically have the amendments applied to their life like, the right to bear arms, freedom of speech and religion, the right to assemble, and many more. No matter who you are and no matter where in the U.S.A. you are, these rights apply to you. Every single amendment and law (in whichever state-border you are born in) apply to you and your whole life. It doesn't matter what your race or religion is, all of these rules and laws are your responsibility to abide by. …show more content…

Whether it be that we are all given an opportunity to attend school, public or private, or we are all are given the opportunity to live as a free person. Everyone has the equal opportunities to do anything and everything that it within their mental capacity. So, in other words, everyone can do anything they want as long as it's within the state and governmental law's standards and it's within their abilities to reach that
