In life, choosing is never easy. Choosing what to wear, eat, where to go, and how to live. Choosing what you want to do for the rest of your life, is as easy as walking to the moon and back. There is no brochure that gives you a sure set of bullet points as to what you would like to do, instead, we are meant to simply discover what we would enjoy doing most. There are over a million different careers, yet I’ve chosen a profession in Dental Hygiene. Believe it or not, my first words were not in fact, “I want to become a dental hygienist”.

Deciding on what one wants to be in life can prove to be a demanding task. There are so many, yet limited, different opportunities in the world to have an excellent career and make a decent living while doing something one loves. Choosing a vocation can be a daunting task. With the world ever-evolving, one may come across a new attractive career every year. In order to ensure optimal job satisfaction, it is vital to educate oneself about every alluring prospect prior to committing. Simple factors like the time commitment and salary can mean the difference between a content existence and a miserable one.

Life is full of decisions. You have the choice to decide what you want to do for a career. Some may have jobs they wish they could change or made the decision before to have done something differently. The career you choose should be something you love, along with aspects that fit your values the best. Interest, skills, financially that you know you can excel in. A plan for life is important, so it’s best to know or have an idea on what you want to proceed in.

When I asked myself what I was I going to be when I got older, I had no answer. This made me realize that I had to make a decision and I had to make one fast. An area of study I have always been interested in is business. My dreams as a child have always been to become the President of The United States or an owner of a business. Working for a business would be intresting, but owning one would be more fulfilling. I would be able to expand my imagination by coming up with new ideas and control the company as a whole. I love designing and creating different things that make people happy, and if one day I became an owner of a company that produced products that satisfied people, that would make me happy. Isn't it everyone’s dream to have a job where we love it so much it’s our hobby and not really our job? Well, at least it has been for me, wanting to become a dental hygienist. I don't really want to do it for the money (although it is pretty decent pay), but the work environment and what you are providing for others. The satisfaction you get when you can make someone smile or make them feel confident about their smile. And “boy oh boy”, is there a story behind on how I found a hobby/part-time. I have. I'm pretty sure that we’ll have heard the saying "We are going to end up doing what we hate the most", and well this is what happen in my situation.

Have you thought about what you wanted to be when you grow up? Do you have a special talent and passion for something? All these questions and some don’t have answers for them. You have to be motivated in the career you choose. You want to pick a career that you will love for a long period of time. When you're dedicated in the work, that is how you get patients or customers to your business.

At a young age, this type of career always interested me, making me a unique applicant as it has always been my heartfelt dream.

The career I’m looking forward to pursuing in, is to own a business in lawn care and landscaping.

What factors influenced your choice of field and professional plans, and what are your long-term goals in this field?

Everybody has asked, what is the most interesting job? What do you want to study? In these days, people are looking for a good job that can improve his/her future, but there some types of jobs that are not secure or do not offer too many opportunities. Therefore, people need to be careful about what they want to study. There are three types of jobs I would like to work: Soccer coach, business administration, and doctor.
