There are many motives for imperialism. Those motives can change a country from poor economically to wealthy politically. Religions can change and evolve depending on the Imperialistic power. Governments would use the economic parts of labor, controlling markets or trades.

Imperialism also expanded our economy. “Economically, the United States is one of the world's most highly developed and productive nations. No other country equals the United States in the production of goods and services.” As a result of imperializing, our economy is very strong and the most successful. This was a very positive effect on America because it shows the rest of the world that we are a powerful nation.

Europeans have been known for one thing: imperialism. Imperialism is the policy of extending a country’s power and influence through disciplinary or militaristic force. This concept has drastically impacted Asia as European imperialism changed the dynamic of many countries forever. The effects of imperialism are both positive and negative. The positive effects are banning inhumane traditional practices such as sati and the dowry system, promoting widow remarriage and prohibiting child marriage. Some of the positive effects of imperialism on india would be the transportation methods and communication that were introduced to India by industrialized countries like Great Britain. Phones were improved and paved roads, cars, trains, and postal networks. This was a positive effect because it boosted the economy, standard of living and the flow of information to people. Also modern technology and education were also benefits for India. More advanced machines for manufacturing goods, vaccines, cars, electricity, guns, steel, and steam engines were all brought to India to help industrialize the new colony. Education was much more popular after colonization because social groups were less dominant. Many subjects such as science, health, agricultural resourcing, hygiene, and medicine were taught. Lastly another benefit was that India's population and production of goods increased. The population increased because of the better usage of hygiene, the increased amount of vaccinations and medicines available, and a larger food supply. Britain encouraged traveling herders to settle down and become farmers, teaching them about crop rotation so their lands would be fertile.

The European imperialism was very beneficial as it changed many structures of governments. For example, the Japanese had a feudalist government where the nobility had land in exchange for military service and the peasants/slaves were forced to live in their owner’s land while doing labor such as producing crops in exchange for military protection. This government was also strict on foreigners as they prohibited foreigners from entering Japan.
