Are group was given the time period between 1900-1920. This time period was a sad but prosperous time. The idea of “The American Dream” then is different from what we perceive it today, it was imagining that everyone was equal and that money had no sway on who you were. During the 1930's American citizens witnessed a breakdown of the Democratic and free enterprise way of life. The government saw that the free enterprise system was failing. The New Deal increased the government's regulation and intervention and the economic system, thus temporarily abandoning the capitalism system and turning toward socialism to find the answer.             The twenties was a decade full of new financial opportunities in a society unable to adopt so much so quickly.  All of the new possibilities, such as credit and loans, led to greater debts and bigger holes to fill.  Society began getting too deeply in debt and was becoming increasingly unable to get itself out.  So, they began searching for alternate means of wealth.

The Twenties marked the start of a new lifestyle for the world, in which styles such as appearances were different, the system of money changed, and things were viewed much differently than they were in past generations.
