Terrorism is defined as an unlawful use of violence. This negatively impacts civilians all across the globe. Terrorist groups are created to portray their beliefs to the world by instilling fear in people through acts of terrorism. The members of these groups aim for large numbers of people in one area to cause the maximum amount of casualties possible. There are many groups around the world that use terrorism as one of their tactics to spread their belief. One of these wicked groups is called ISIS.

Terrorism is a violent act that is planned and committed to cause terror in the people while trying to achieve political goals. In the Prologue Magazine article of John Brown the author states, “Terrorists may hope for political change, but what they often want is to simply strike back at and harm those they oppose” (Finkelman, 2011). Terrorism is something that can happen in any country because there are people who disagree with another’s beliefs or political views. Terrorists usually target civilians or “non-military folk” because they aren’t able to defend themselves against an attack. They are also not concerned with how much damage they cause; they will use anything from a bomb to guns.

My definition of terrorism is the act of violence to create fear in order to gain power and to simply terrorize to prove a point. Terrorism does not only include bombing and shootings, it includes other things that people do not often think about.
