1- Active: Teachers can start using technology not only to deliver a lesson but also let students to engage with the technological tools. For instance, using smart-board is becoming more popular day by day, and teachers are using it in their teaching activities. However, just showing videos on smart-boards to students relevant to the context that they are learning will not enhance students’ engagement and learning. Thus, teachers can allow students to deliberately engage with technological devices. For example, while teaching numbers, instead of just showing the numbers and the objects, and asking them to calculate, teachers can give them opportunities to draw numbers with their hands on smart-board. In this case, as they will be engaging with the technological device, their attention will be higher, and they will learn easier.
On the other hand, some of teachers may not be eager to give chance to students for using technological tools actively because they believe that it is wasting time. However, although discovering the tool by students takes some time at the beginning, it will help both teachers and students to save time during further activities. For instance, some students may not familiar with computer because of different reasons. Thus, the teacher may not allow students using computer to prevent chaos during showing the context of an activity. However, in this case, each time, s/he will need to spend much more time to show each student the context. Instead of this,
The use of technology in the classroom is an important tool to utilize as an educator. Technology allows for educators to have instant access to a plethora of resources that would not be available if technology was not used in the classroom. Teachers have the ability to plan lessons, create presentations, and have interactive games for students to use as a learning tool through the use of different digital devices. Modern day technology is rapidly advancing and providing teacher with many different tools to use in the classroom to enhance the students learning experience.
There are so many avenues to experience by using technology from research to presentation. For example, the use of classroom-to-classroom video chatting, such as a debate between two classes on a particular subject, can help students learn in a quicker manner and help them understand the topic at a higher degree. The use of iPads early on in elementary school and the introduction to computers that many children don’t receive would be beneficial later on in life. In today’s society, technology is used extensively in the workforce. Having the proper up-to-date technology can help the student better succeed and stay on top of the growing world. Utilization of technology will now prepare students for a better future. Schools should provide more ways to use technology in order to prepare students for a better
For example, calculators are utilized in math and science classes to solve for arithmetic solutions to number problems, while smart phones and tablets are introduced in my Early Learning toddler classroom to engage students in intentional learning via the plating of games for identifying and matching objects as well as occasional watching of a kid friendly video. Moreover, the article Technology in the Classroom Versus Sustainability suggests that “Technology also changes the way instruction is delivered by offering educators effective ways to reach different types of learners and assess student understanding through a wider array of options” (Knott,
Education in classrooms are getting a different twist these days. In order to get kids more engaged at learning, teachers are trying to figure out ways to get then interested. With a handful of technology available that can distract kids from learning, teachers are using that same technology as a tool for learning.
One day during algebra we were learning a new and difficult way to solve an algebra problem. I didn’t know how to do the homework, so I used the internet to teach myself, the website went through step-by-step and taught me and I was able to finish and get all the right answers on my homework. Technology can be a huge positive to someone's learning experience. Every student should be allowed to have a device in the classroom because it allows faster information, different teaching techniques, and teaches you how to find the right information out of many answers .
You walk into most public-school classrooms and you see laptops, I pads, Desktops and sometimes smart boards. These are used as learning tools. When using these tools, the kids really are learning with a hands-on approach. For some kids, it’s a helpful tool for other kids it’s a distraction. The students can use technology for school work at home and it also helps with the Turing in process with teachers. I think that technology can be useful in a classroom setting but should not replace the classroom
The students are more engaged when we use the SMART board. They participate more and pay closer attention to the lesson because they want to go up to the SMART board. Even though we had technical difficulties and quite a bit of chatting, the students still appeared to be engaged in the lesson. I had the students discuss in their groups the word that matched the definition. The students groups are made up of mixed abilities.
Many schools across the United States uses technology in some form of way. Technology resources and technology plan are most of the time managed by a team of professional who work together for long periods of times. Majority of the time spent is used to develop technology plan that can range from 50 pages to 38 pages. The page length depends on how in depth the team goes to explain their Technology Plan. Theses plans can take up to a year or two to develop . With this being said currently my job is at Chesterfield County Public School.
In the twenty first century, technology is advancing every day, there is always something new that is being made or an old device is modified. One can find technology everywhere, his house, a grocery store, at work, and even in schools. Technology is beginning to play a major role in student engagement because students are being exposed to all sorts of new technology. The Smartboard is just one of many examples of innovation in the classroom setting. Educators are continuing to look for new ways of teaching that involve technology and will help improve students’ engagement.

The education system around the world has progressed and changed in a plentiful amount of ways, and the concept of knowledge and learning has changed in modern day. For example, certain schools around the globe are moving on to implementing technology in classrooms because it provides many benefits and statistical research that states how students are improving their academic readiness because of the instant access to information, a greater engagement and interactive process in learning, and the personalization that instructors can do towards the educational experience that students receive. Education has found its way into the loop of technology. Teachers are using ipads and laptops during class time to help conduct experiments, or share a presentation. This is allowing the students to gain instant access to the information they are seeking. Students also receive the opportunity to complete their homework online and print off their assignments instead of just using paper and pencil. Another pro for Technology in Education, there are countless sources out there which help enhance learning. In one research conducted, they compared the performance of teaching kids how to read a clock. One group was coached by an online app, another was shown by a toy clock, and the last group was trained by a drawing example. The results revealed that the children that were taught by the toy and app exceeded the paper drawing group (Galetzka).
