I will be observing a seven-year-old child for my project. What I have learned from being a parent and watching my kids as they grow up the social emotional, physical and intellectual changes that occur in children between birth and the end of adolescence are that they all progress at individual intervals from dependency to increasing individualism. On November 7,2016 at 2:50 pm, Shawn was in the special education room for work completion. When his teacher showed him the work to be finished Shawn was adamant he had already completed it. Staff showed Shawn that the work was incomplete. Shaw refused to comply at which time staff started the sequence of his behavior plan. A timer was started for five minutes, to allow Shawn to comply with the directions. Due to Shawn behavior at the end of the five minutes, he needed to be escorted to the break room. All children are different in their unique way. The goal of this assignment was to observe different children in an uninterrupted environment. Although all the children observed were the same age, they all acted differently during their observation. The differences in the way we react to different situations are what make us human. These differences can be explained through the theories that different psychologist have developed over the years. Some children react better to things like praise from a teacher or being able to be creative in the activities that they are participating in.

On July 9 at approximately 1800 I observed an individual walking up the Priest Rapids Road towards the intake. Subject “Chris” is a 7 year old middle class Caucasian male. Observation is taking place in the child’s home over the course of two separate afternoons. Chris is a friendly and well spoken child who is small for his age. Chris is the youngest child in his family and both observations take place while his siblings are home. In each case one or both parents are absent.

On the event date above, CP attempted to conduct a schedule home visits to Selena Goodall residence. The CP was advised by Selena adoptive brother that she was not home. The CP then proceed to call Selena about her whereabouts. Selena apologized to the CP and stated that she is at Myan daycare center picking the child up. The Cp advised Selena that any point that she feels that she is running to call the CP immediately. Aliza has maintained progress on the goals she had previously met. She continues to make friends at school and have meaningful conversations with them about their similar interests. Additionally, at school, she has been integrated with a general education science class and states that she has initiated conversations with her peers in that class.

The second interaction I observed was a child went over and grabbed the ring stacker toy. She started to shake the pieces which contained beads that made noise. The teacher walked over and allowed the child to really explore all the pieces of the toy before she intervened. She was laughing along with the child when she got excited that the beads were moving. I would give this interaction a seven on the QQCIIT scale for supporting object exploration. This is because the teacher allowed the child to explore multiple toys and pick one to really explore. On Wednesday, December 16, 2015 at 1955 hours I was dispatched to the Rite Aid for a welfare check. Schuylkill County Communications advised me, it was reported that there was a female leaning against the wall at the Rite Aid shaking and moving back and forth. I went to the Gracepoint Church’s Fall Fest on Halloween eve. For this project, I observed my mother's preschool class and the three children which she baby-sits on weekends. Most of the kids that are in the preschool class were three years old, but there was one five year old. The kids I helped baby-sit were two twin three year old girls, and one five year old.

For this child observation, I decided to observe my younger brother Jacob. Jacob is 5 years old, but he insisted that I write that he is almost 6. He is also in kindergarten this year and loving every second of being a loud, rowdy boy. The police received  a call at 6 PM about a missing person. The call came from the mom of the missing person. Officers Stephen Potter and Jordon Saunders responded to the call at the private residence. For this observation, I observed two children one boy age three named Ace Johnson. Little Ace suffers from Epilepsy which limits him from using certain technology in the class for example the Game Table. The Game Table is what we use to asset the children when they play their games. We found that whenever Ace uses the table he has an attack therefore we try our best to use different alternative such as the computer his dad provides just for him to use. Another key information to know about Ace is that he is from a single parent home. Ace lives with his father, his teacher did not go into too much details about his personal life because that is private.
