With having plastic manufacturer facilities in areas such as China, Michigan, and Georgia; Riordan Manufacturing has produced annual earnings over forty six million. Riordan also has a research and development department over in San Jose California. Riordan Industries are the sole owner of Riordan Manufacturing and they are one of the Fortune 1000 enterprises with their worth being more than one billion. With having facilities in areas all over the US and even China, Riordan proves that they are a successful business.

Project Scope
The effect of integrating a new system, agreeing, and understanding a new project in the company or a new system is project scope. It is mandatory that everyone understands how and why the company will improve from upgrading to a new system. Agreeing what is best for the company and why it is important to update the system is also a must. It is important to a company for project scope because it can deal with everyone that is in the company and make sure that everyone is on the same page.
Service Request Part 2
Riordan Manufacturing wants to integrate its existing HR information system tools to a single integrating application. This request of service is interested in defining business requirements for completion of the HR system for obtaining the objective. Security controls that we recommend for the design for the HR systems, process design, and application architecture are the requirements for this project.

Riordan Manufacturing is an international plastics manufacturer that currently employs 550 people with projected annual earnings totaling approximately $46 million. The company is completely owned by Riordan Industries which is a Fortune 1000 enterprise with revenues of up to $1 billion. The company’s merchandises consists of plastic beverage containers that are produced at its plant in Albany, Georgia; custom plastic parts are manufactured at its plant in Pontiac, Michigan; and plastic fan parts are created at its facilities in Hangzhou, China ("Riordan Manufacturing", 2013).
Riordan has sent a request for service with to the IT department hoping to benefit their company. The request for service involves changing the HR department for the better. Riordan wants to integrate and change the HR applications with a new state-of-the-art information system. The company wants to have the HR department to have the ability to assesses resources and tools all in one application.
Riordan manufacturing is a very large company with facilities in many locations around the World. With any company with this size Riordan must have a system in place that is able to keep track of significant amounts of information. Such as Employee names, time sheets and a variety of other important information. This system should be able to have a central location so that stores all of this information and can be accessed not only by the corporate office but at each location as well. There are many functions that a new and improved system should provide. Such as inventory control, tracking of shipments into and out of the warehouses, and the receiving of such items to our costumers. These requirements are essential to the growth of Riordan Manufacturing.
Key stakeholders in this company include CEO Dr. Michael Riordan who is the founder that has the main focus of how the company is performing and running. The Director of Human Resources, Yvonne McMillan who coordinates
HRIS architecture will include Database Management Systems (DBMS), web-based services, an HR intranet for faster and more secure HR internal management, Object Oriented Programming (OOP) and a fully automated back up of data to ensure zero data loss. The HR intranet will require no additional installation of hardware but will utilize a secure “tunnel” accessed through a Virtual Private Network (VPN), which will secure the data and will minimize access to those within Riordan’s HR network.
Riordan Manufacturing is in need of updating their decrepit HRIS system to stay profitable. This system will move from the legacy system, integrated with the financial system, into a new standalone system used to integrate all of the HR tools within the system presently.
A project scope is a way to describe the major deliverables of a project and this includes key milestones, high level requirements, assumptions and constraints. A projects scope is a useful way to make decisions for the future of the project if changes are needed. The projects scope also defines boundaries of a given project and it clarifies what can be delivered and what is expected to be delivered ("Match ware", 2013). The scope explains the boundaries of the project and the responsibilities of every one working on that project. This helps who ever is working on the project by defining guidelines and helping them to remain focused. The projects scope is a very important part of the SDLC because this serves as a manual for how the project will be completed including important details, deliverables, tasks, costs, and deadlines.
