Every race has something unique, special, and different that they bring to this world. Racism is the act of disrespecting these differences and furthering this disrespect by using racial slurs, stereotypes, and other injustices such as discrimination and segregation. Racism has been a long lasting problem present throughout all of history. Last week, we celebrated the birthday of a great man, Martin Luther King Jr., who spoke out against such racial injustices happening in America during the 1950’s and 1960’s. During that time, black people were treated with constant disrespect and were segregated by white people. Now, racism is still active in our nation despite such strong opposition towards it. People experience racism every day hearing racial slurs, being stereotyped, and being excluded because of their race. Racism has been around since the beginning of time, whether it was between the Egyptians and Israelites, the Spaniards and the Native Americans, or the people of the United States and Africans. The latter group of people were enslaved by the former, and while that does not exist anymore, racism still exists. Slavery has been abolished since 1865 in the United States, but there are still people in our country that do not believe that minorities are equal. For that reason, their lives are still different than the lives of the people in the majority race. Racism is a problem blown out of proportion. Many believe that racism is the biggest problem that the world faces. Some even throw large nation-wide protests to complain about racism. In reality, all of these protests about racism do more harm than good. The violent protests staged by groups like Black Lives Matter, causing entire cities to shut down, people then lose their homes and businesses. Racism is a misinterpreted problem, too many people believe race gives them special privilege and, racism really cannot go away.

Although many experts disagree on what to do about racism, it has been a huge problem in America for many years. What exactly is racism? Prejudice, discrimination, or antagonism directed against someone of a different race based on the belief that one’s own race is superior. Racism is still alive and well in 2017, if anything, it's worse now than it has been in a while. While there has been many attempts to prevent racism, many people just can’t seem to get along with others simply because of their skin color. Will we ever be able to live in a world where everyone is treated the same no matter where they were born or what their skin color is? We have the power to change this but first, we must all unite and love each other equally.

Racism has been an issue for many years, it started from the beginning of mankind before people started traveling and exploring the world, it's natural for humans to abhor what they aren't familiar with, especially when it's found in other human beings. Racism is easily taught when children are the ones being informed, because of their unawareness towards the world, they can easily pick up on the adult behavior around them. Children pick up on what they see and act upon it, and racism is just one of many examples of that. Racism has been created socially, mostly by people who aren't aware or fail to acknowledge the different nationalities that this world has, Discrimination can only be avoided, starting with the root of the problem.

All in all, racism is something that should have not happen and it’s sad that it did and still does. Though it has gone through many stages, America progressed in trying to get better and show everyone that they are equal. People can also find ways to remove racism completely. If the old generations stop passing on racism to the new generations it would be a step to ending racism.

Although we may like to think racism does not exist in this world today, it still is very much alive. Some people may support it or it can be looked frowned upon. This topic can be very controversial. This issue has been a problem all around for a very long time. Racism is defined as “the belief of superiority over another race of others”. Racism is often looking down on another race based on color, culture, or physical appearance in general. There’s so much history of racism; there are issues from the past even still to this day you hear about, and a solution can be found to help end it.

Racism makes no sense. When looking back, it can be seen that racism has always been present, and even though it may seem like a thing of the past it is just as present today as it was then. Though many people now would argue that racism has been abolished and that all the stories are made up and the victims are just being dramatic, this is not the case. Racism is a problem that no one seems to have an answer to how to end it. People are prejudicing someone based off the color of their skin. They are being discriminated again, and some people even think that their race is above another. All those things all of example of racism. I think one thing that keeps racism going is the fear of something different. People see other races as something different then themselves and that scares them. Racism is not something that affect one race, it is something that affects everyone. It may not affect everyone in the same way, but it is very uncommon to meet someone who has not been affected by racist.

Racism has taken a large impact on today’s society; Allowing it to cause division amongst race, sex, diverse lifestyles, and disabilities. When hearing the word, “racism,” we automatically assume that it has to do with black and whites against one another, but that is not the case in all situations. It is important to realize the changes racism has brought about in the world today. However, if one learns about its background, effects, and the aspect of Racism in other countries, Americans can learn from their mistakes and make America a better place. In opposing Racism, one feels as though that racism is inhumane, ignorant and full of hate. Racism is something that should not happen especially in this day in age. Many people feel as

Racism is a growing problem in today's society. People are being discriminated against their culture, religion, and background. We can just look south of the border to see how bad racism is. Donald Trump a presidential candidate has promised to ban and deport Muslims because of the growing concerns over ISIS. Not all Muslims are they same and people should learn that by now.

Racism is a big issue in America that needs to be solved but no one can figure it out. Their is no reason in my opinion why people should hate or judge an individual based off the pigmentation on their skin. We harass each other and don’t even progress the world. I have a few racism events that happened in my life that I felt that it was unnecessary.
