Abstract The premise of this paper is to identify deficiencies in daily managerial processes by using systematic statistical process controls and make the necessary improvements. The paper will employ various examples and calculations along with supporting data to explain control limits and its importance to the statistical process control. The effects of seasonal factors and its relevance to a process will also be highlighted and how confidence intervals are important in giving insights into data sets that improve the entire statistical process control.

The Michael R. Zent (MRZ) Integrated Healthcare Center was established in January 2006 to provide comprehensive and integrated healthcare services to individuals with mental health illness in Phoenix Arizona. The integration behavioral and physical health services across the continuum of care provide a seamless care delivery system that offers patients a holistic care based on their psychosocial needs and diagnoses. Achieving a sustainable efficient and effective integrated care program requires multiple evaluation and modification of operational and administrative processes using a Plan, Do, Study, Act (PDSA) methodology.
Comcast is the leading cable telecommunications and Entertainment Company in the industry. Their strengths lie in their products and the will to explore and improve with their services. They always continue to provide customers with new and improved services and continue to build on existing services. Comcast is the fourth largest cable company in the world and served customers in 39 states with over 24.7 million cable customers. (Comcast, 2008). The chart below shows the amount of subscribers in the country:
This process improvement initiative is directed at improving patient care by standardizing the care of infants by decreasing the variation in treatment by providers. During, weekly discharge rounds every Tuesday in UAB’s RNICU & CCN, the lack of standard care for NAS was identified as a potential problem affecting the LOS & DOS. The team comprised of the nurse managers, assistant nurse managers, social services, Utilization Management (UM), NNPs, the discharge coordinator and UAB Police discussed the LOS & DOT issues. Because the process of weaning the methadone is crucial, questions would arise about which day of weaning the infants was on and whether the infants needed to be monitored 3-5-7 days off methadone before discharging infants. There
The final identified recommendation is the use of a standardized action plan format that will provide the framework for change. Defined expectations and deadlines will ensure that progress is maintained amongst the numerous and diverse clinical settings. My role-modeling of this step will teach my management team how to utilize this tool as well as assist with setting the expectation that they utilize the tool with their staff members as well.
Statistical process control is one way to control quality and make sure goals are attained. Statistical methods show that the samples taken can create visual representations that conclude my alarm clock is an effective method to starting my morning process. This ensures that it is operating at its fullest potential.
Process Improvement or Business Process Improvement is an aspect of organizational development (OD) in which a series of actions are taken by a process owner to identify, analyze and improve existing business processes within an organization to meet new goals and objectives. Six Sigma, Lean and
Some advantages of the self-administered survey are: Low cost. Extensive training is not required to administer the survey. Processing and analysis are usually simpler and cheaper than for other methods. The reduction in bias error. The questionnaire reduces the bias that might result from personal characteristics of interviewers and/or their interviewing skills. Greater anonymity, absence of an interviewer provides greater anonymity for the respondent. This is especially helpful when the survey deals with sensitive issues such as questions about involvement in a gang, because respondents are more likely to respond to sensitive questions when they are not face to face with an interviewer.
The modern day health care system is currently faced with a wide array of challenges, such as the aging of the population and the intensified need for medical care, the rapidly evolving technologies and the increasing costs of the medical act.

“We will find our baseline measurement using nurse surveys, audits and observation timings. We will track what steps are covered and how long each step takes and the number of occurrences of near misses due to inefficient handoffs relating to patient safety. We will also measure our patient baseline data from current patient satisfaction surveys” N. Guyse (personal communication, February 22, 2014). Currently we are inefficient and unsafe with handoff practices due to missing or incomplete information, multiple processes used between the nursing staff, and multiple report out processes being practiced on the floor. Multiple processes are causing confusion and incidental overtime. With multiple processes, information is being missed between nursing staff, which is a safety concern due to the increased errors. Our organization is working on the creation of one standardized process used between all employees to ensure that all handoffs are efficient and safe. “We have implemented a group report out for nursing staff in conjunction with the beside report outs” N. Guyse (personal communication, February 22, 2014).

The case is based on an insurance service company which traced back to 1994. The company was facing problems in controlling and improving service quality and operation performance. This essay will stress on introducing the SPC (statistical process control) to DAV and providing suggestions on improving both the SPC and the company’s operation performance. The five questions required are covered and allocated
The concept of Six Sigma was developed in the early 1980’s at Motorola Corporation (Harry and Schroeder, 2000). Six Sigma can be defined as a statistical measure of the performance of a process or product (Kumi et. al., 2006). It is used as a quality control mechanism, which seeks to reduce defects or variations in a process to 3.4 per million opportunities thereby optimizing output and increasing customer satisfaction (Sambhe, 2012). Sigma is representing the standard deviation, a unit of measurement that designates the distribution or spread about the mean of a process (Six Sigma Academy, 2002). In addition, the Six Sigma uniquely driven by close understanding of customer needs, disciplined use of fact, data, and statistical analysis, and diligent attention to managing improving, and reinventing business processes (Pande, P., et. al. 2000). The Six Sigma methodology uses statistical tools to identify the factors that matter most for improving the quality of processes and generating bottom-line results. The Six Sigma DMAIC (Define, Measure,
· Operations control methods assess how efficiently and effectively an organization's transformation processes create goods and services. Methods of transformation controls include Total Quality Management (TQM) statistical process control and the inventory management control. Statistical process control is the use of statistical methods and procedures to determine whether production operations are being performed correctly, to detect any deviations, and to find and eliminate their causes. A control chart displays the results of measurements over time and provides a visual means of determining whether a specific process is staying within predefined limits. As long as the process variables fall within the acceptable range, the system is in control.
