Police brutality remains to be one of the United States biggest human rights violation issue. However, this isn’t just a national problem, but an issue that occurs everywhere in the world. Over the past decade or so, Those of the minority community have been subjected, to violence by those in law enforcement positions in the United States. Unjustified actions such as severe beatings, fatal chokings, and rough treatment by the police have caused many to wonder whether the police are for the people. The fact of the matter is that a majority of these incidents go unreported or swept under the rug by those of the police department. Through research and past incidents, we aim to find the source of police brutality and find some feasible solutions. In order to know how to put an end to police brutality, we must first know what constitutes as brutality and what exactly excessive force is. According to Law Dictionary, police brutality is the use of excessive force when dealing with civilians. Furthermore, the term excessive force, although it doesn’t have a concrete definition, can be best defined as a force well beyond what would be necessary in order to handle a situation. Police brutality can be presented in a number of ways. The most obvious form of police brutality is a physical form, but not the only.
