This paper I will research several studies on how teaching practices support high-quality programming for children and families and I will also review studies on how child development theory and principles relate to best practices and then use my own personal experience on those subjects to explain if I feel they are credible and accurate.
Teaching practices that support high-quality programming for children and families. I researched two different studies one from to me the best known information for the field of Early Childhood Education and that is NAEYC this site is truly my go to site for literally any questions I might have on any subject. NAEYC has 10 effective DAP teaching strategies I will go through them and determine if

• Prepared educators who are engaging interactions and classroom environment that support learning.
• Ongoing support for educators.
• Support for ESL and Sped learners.
• Sufficient time to learn.
• Small classroom sizes with low ratios child to teacher.
• Program assessments that measure quality and classroom interactions.
• Well-implemented state quality rating.
All of these should be a part of every centers basis for their program. I do believe that both of these research studies are good one and I do use them at the center I am at and definitely use them in my class room every day. My center is small so I struggle with getting the help I need with some of these things listed above but I do my best to achieve them for the children and families in my class room every year.
Course project 3 This next section I researched child development theory and principles that relate to best practices. Once again I found this study on the NAEYC site and it has twelve principles of child development and learning. They are as follows
• All areas of development and learning are important.
• Learning and development follow sequences.
• Development and learning proceed at varying rates.
• Development and learning result from interaction of

The program’s philosophy is based on the NAEYC’s guidelines on developmentally appropriate practices and Froebel, Piaget, and Gardner’s early learning theories. We believe that every child can learn and grow with the proper care and instruction. The NAEYC defines practices as developmentally appropriate when they consider age and stage related differences, individual differences in learning style and preferences, and social and cultural differences among children (Kostelnik, Soderman, & Whiren, 2011). For this reason we believe that the best way to ensure positive development is to adapt the materials, activities, and the mode of demonstrating learning to meet the varied needs of our students.
Developmentally Appropriate Practices (DAP) is a method of teaching that is based on the research about how young children grow and learn and includes standards for high quality care and education for young children. The National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) established these guidelines more than 20 years ago. Authors Gordon and Browne state, “The DAP approach stresses the need for activity-based learning environments and is based on what we know about children through years of child development research and what we observe of their interests, abilities, and needs” (40). The three core components of DAP are: 1) what is known about child development and learning, 2) what is known about each child, and 3) what is known about social and cultural contexts in which children learn. A DAP classroom is a busy classroom where students are engaged and interacting physically with objects and persons. This classroom is full of materials, activities, and direct interactions that lead the student into active learning. The observations for this report were conducted at the Laredo Community College Camilo Prada Early Child Development Center in the blue classroom.
The NYS Early Learning Guidelines were created as a reference guide by the Early Childhood Advisory Council (ECAC) for those who are responsible for the care and education of young children. These guidelines can help early childhood professionals with learning and developing their skills in order to foster children’s growth and development. The guideline focuses on the five domains: Physical well-being, Health and Motor Development, Social and Emotional Development, Approaches to learning, Cognition and General Knowledge, Language, Communication and Literacy. Each of these domains are separated by milestone that children, generally, accomplishes at a certain age. The three age groups are Infancy (birth to 18 months), Toddlerhood (18 months
Produce a report to demonstrate your knowledge and understanding of differing theories of development. This report should identify how these theories have influenced current practice and include the following:
The main ideas in both CAFS 200: Introduction to child, adolescent, and family development and CHDV B20: Principles and Practices were focused on the developmental theory highlight as well as appropriate practices applied to programs and environments. These courses highlighted on the roles of relationships, interactions, and teaching strategies that would support physical, social, and creative development for all children. These courses taught us as students how to conduct observations, what to look for, and how to record the findings accurately.
The three early childhood organizations that I found were NAEC, Association for Early Learning Leaders, and Zero to Three. All three of them would be ones I could or would eventually join as an Early Childhood educator. As someone who wants to teacher toddlers, preschoolers or kindergarten they all would be beneficial to my future.
The NAEP project has been in a transition phase to adopt and implement new processes for data collection and assessment administration. NAEP is a large scale and complex project that must meet client and alliance needs. The application of Agile can greatly benefit NAEP by guiding the development of the software and the implementation of the new processes. Agile will help the working groups with their organization, collaboration, communication, and change implementation.
Developmental methods can have an advantage for any induvial by helping them in understanding the variety of designs of research. Moreover, it will help the students and induvial in the path of child development to countless observational research in a child care facility or just any research related to the field.
According to all of the videos I watched and articles I read, early childhood education has benefits for the child’s development as well as for our society’s economy. The two programs we were instructed to research are very similar. Both projects focus on the education during the earliest years of life, ages 0-3 years. Both believe that this early education will have an effect on the children throughout their entire lives.
After a review of the Common Core standards, we discussed the importance of learning theory and child development. Research on learning theory and child development informs research-based best practices related to curriculum, instruction, assessment, and creation of a positive learning environment. As a school leader, it is critically important for you to understand how students learn. This
There are four major early childhood intervention programs that offer evidence that pre-kindergarten programs are effective. These programs began when the

In the last several centuries there have been many scholars and researchers who took it upon themselves to discover child development and childhood education. These intellectuals formulated ideas and theories based on their discoveries, and they each contributed to different elements in the realm of early childhood special education; such as early childhood education, special education, or compensatory education programs.
Evaluation of teaching methods and determining the quality of teaching is vital to improving teaching and learning across all levels of education. What is meant by quality of teaching, some factors affecting teaching, how it can be evaluated and what are considered effective tools for evaluation are some of the concerns and concepts that need to be looked at and considered in devising ways to improve the process of teaching and learning. The purpose of this review of literature was to understand these areas and concepts that have been explored in the past. Several studies evaluated methods of teaching, whereas others looked at factors affecting teaching quality. Some other studies explored the significance of providing training to teachers, students’ performance and achievement and using instructional guides and programs. This review does not support, agree or disagree with any of the findings and only provides a meta-analysis of previous research findings.
