“My job is not to be easy on people. My job is to take these great people we have and to push them and make them even better.”-Steve Jobs (Steve Jobs Quote). Steve Jobs was the founder of Apple and changed technology. He made the iMac, iPod, iPhone, and I am sure that everyone has or is using one of those Apple products. Steve Jobs was an outstanding leader because he was an innovator, passionate about Apple, and he motivated his workers to make great products.
Steve Jobs was a great leader because he was an excellent innovator. Jobs was named “CEO of the Decade” because he created the iMac, iPod, iPad, and iPhone. “In November 2009, Fortune named him “CEO of the Decade,” saying, “the past decade in business belongs to Jobs. Calling him “a showman, a born salesman, a magician who creates a famed reality-distortion field, [and] tyrannical perfectionist,” the magazine noted that in ten years, “he has radically and lucratively recorded three markets---music, movies, and mobile telephones---and his impact on his original industry, computing, has only grown.” No wonder it said, he was a worldwide celebrity.” (Blumenthal 255). This shows how Steve Jobs was a prominent leader

“Far better than most leaders, Jobs intuitively understood the power of cultural influence in sustaining the strategic capabilities implicit in his perpetual vision of creating, as he put it, “an enduring company where people were motivated to make great products… a company that will stand for something a generation or two from now.”(Katzenbach 21-25). Also, another example of Steve Jobs motivating his workers was in the movie Jobs and he motivated them to risk everything to become great because Apple has “bravado, it’s social status, no it’s even more than that, it’s social currency.”(Metroplex89). This shows how Jobs was an incredible leader because he motivates his workers to make innovative
With everything considered, Steve Jobs fits the role of a role model exceptionally well. The legacy he left behind will be remembered for many centuries and may possibly be studied like the epic poem, Beowulf. As a role model, Steve Jobs shows that to be the best is to be intelligent. To be intelligent requires school and the dedication to learn. We need to think outside the box to create items that will improve the lifestyle of the common people. Steve Jobs thought like this to create all of his products and therefore, he is my role
Steve Jobs was like the Thomas Edison, Alexander Graham Bell and the Albert Einstein of our time. He not only innovated personal computing, but personal media and communication, iTunes which became one of the most popular music and video retailers and Pixar which was one of his side projects had become one of the greatest animation digital movie creators and software. But all that is a just part of the list of his legacy, because in the end he still left behind Apple which is world’s most valuable company, which is valued at $350 Billion Dollars.
Secondly, Steve Jobs used tyrannical leadership style – hire and fire at will – to ensure that his employees were always delivered products of extremely has high quality. The American author Andrew Keen's wrote “There's not an ounce of democracy at Apple. That's what makes it a paragon of such traditional corporate values as top-down leadership, sharply hierarchical organization and centralized control. It's Steve's company – pursuing his vision, at his pace, with his team, making his products. Without Steve Jobs' authoritarian leadership, Apple would be just another Silicon Valley outfit...” (Keen, 2007). CEO of Enterprise Management Associates, said, “Steve Jobs is a special example of a leader who dominated his company employees and guided them rightly with his authoritarian leadership style and unmatchable vision" (Chaudhuri, 26th April, 2012). Steve Jobs employees were always highly concentrated in work and delivered products of extremely high quality,
Not long after that did he was introduced to his future partner in business Steve Wozniak through a friend.
Steve Jobs on the other hand has a very innovative leadership style; he was a perfectionist who had the courage to change his mind. Steve was a very unconventional leader, he was very `high-maintenance’ who demanded excellence from his staff and was known for his
Steve Jobs was most famously known for his ideas that skyrocketed the Apple’s revenue in the American entertainment and technology market. It was not Apple as a company that created such an impact in the American economy but it was Steve Jobs’ creativity, vision, and leadership. When Steve Jobs left apple for six months due to health
Jobs was definitely passionate about leading, but his true passion was creating. He personally got involved with the best and brightest of Apple. He wanted to know how his product worked. He spent time that he did not have exchanging ideas and opinions with the engineers, concerning everything from the inner paneling of the Apple products to the whether or not the iPad should have round or sharp edges. Ken Segall, longtime Apple employee, claimed in his book Think Simple that when it came to Jobs, “[He] felt [he] had the attention of a CEO who was eager to share ideas and opinions, and one who was also capable of being swayed by someone else’s passionate argument.” One admirable thing about Steve Jobs is that he praised a brilliant idea even if it trumped his own. Being in the position of power he was in and the type of assertive, over-bearing person that he was, it was easy for him to shut down ideas that opposed his own. But that is what made him so great; he was not afraid to be wrong. All he wanted was a perfect product. He pushed his workers to create “insanely great” products and held himself at the same standard. His passion for delivering world-changing
“The only way to do great work is to love what you do.” - Steve Jobs. Jobs is known as one of the world’s greatest innovators. He had an interesting past which led to a successful future. Jobs is most commonly defined by the Apple symbol, but his legacy will live on as an inspiration.
Leadership is “ critical in codifying and maintaining an organizations’ purpose, values, and vision. “ ( PM World Today Journal ). Having good leadership methods in place at an organization is vital in bringing success to a company. Steve Jobs is highly stimulated and has a strong idea of what he wants for Apple to achieve in upcoming periods. He is a transformational leader, and this, “ represents the most popular current view of leadership. This leader is characterised by a capacity to create a highly motivating and absorbing vision of the future, and has the capability to energise others to pursue the vision. “ ( Claremont McKenna College Journal ). Jobs has put in a huge effort to create a strong framework of control and direction, for example, “ Since returning to Apple, Steve has put as much energy into creating a strong management structure as he has into the products. “ ( www.ft.com ). This is highly effective leadership, trying to improve the design of the organisation in order to achieve more efficiency.
Former Apple marketing leader Steve Wilhite mentions that Jobs was such an effective leader. Wilhite’s words were the following, “He was able to guide the company from a high-altitude perspective one moment and dive deep into tiny details the next.”
“You’ve got to find what you love,” I completely agree with Steve Jobs. Everyone searches for happiness and what they live for. He had gone through a lot to figure out what he loved. Steve’s three stories were very influencing. To be young and having to figure out what to do with his future and to make a living, was it worth it for him to do what he loves? He made me think that it was worth it in the end. Steve went through hard times, but ultimately he lived a very successful life. Steve had chosen a college that was not fairly cheap. He chose that school and did not even like attending it. His parents strived to even let him afford to go to college. Eventually he dropped out. He was making his parents happy for going, but he was not

“Leadership is the capacity to develop a vision that motivates others to move with a passion towards a common goal. Therefore, leadership is a process by which a person influences others to accomplish an objective and directs the organization in a way that makes it more cohesive and coherent” (Democracy, 2014). Apple CEO Tim Cook will predictably be compared to his antecedent Steve Jobs, but in one way, he 's greatly more like Bill Gates -- he has encouraged philanthropy at Apple (Stone, 2014). Under his leadership, Apple has become a much more socially aware company, working to enhance conditions in foreign factories and planning to reduce pollution caused by data centers and the devices themselves. In contrast to Tim’s leadership, a successful legend spread out at Microsoft Company where leader Bill Gates has many leadership qualities. One of the most important attributes is his capability to analyze, interpret, and be competent. His methodical intelligence is mentioned in his biography that corroborate of his abilities by scoring 1790 on an 1800 Harvard entrance exam (Stone, 2014). The excellent skills and mentality that Bill Gates has develop places him with to be one of the most powerful transformational leaders who motivate the crowds of whom he shares his vision.
He has crossed all the levels of leadership and become the top managers in the world .He was intensely focused when committed, brave enough to take risky leaps, and charismatic enough to enlist legions of employees and clients in the constant objective of his aspirations. When Steve Jobs formed Apple in 1997 and the company was in financial crisis, he knew exactly how to get rid of almost all but a few of key products and projects that matched his vision. The way he stood by his vision inspired his employees and granted great respect from his business partners and
In this ever growing, rapid developing world as we can see today, there are many different successful leaders. As we know it, leaders are humans just like everyone else. How did they manage to stand out from the crowd? What did they do to achieve great success for an organization? As of all the successful leaders in the world, Steve Jobs is one of the successful leaders that managed to achieve great success for an organization. Therefore, Steve Jobs is the leader that I personally admire and would like to emulate.
