Hunting for the correct information is not a problem with the University of Alabama in Huntsville’s (UAH) website. While some websites lose their users among clutter or badly named tabs, UAH’s website keeps their visitors interested and on track. Since these visitors are usually families exploring the school, it is important to have an efficient website. Without this efficiency, a prospective student could be deterred from further pursuing the school. As a college website that provides information and services to prospective students, current students, and parents, the University of Alabama in Huntsville’s website successfully contains pleasurable design, vibrant readability, and fluent navigation. At first glance, the UAH website provides …show more content…
Not only is the website generally easy to use, but the navigation elements makes a visitor’s process even easier. The first element a visitor will hopefully utilize is the “I am a…” dropdown box which provides the options of “Current Student, Faculty / Staff Member, Parent, or Research Partner” (University). These links redirect the main page to whichever page the visitor desires. This saves the visitors’ time and patience because they do not have to search through various links to find this specific page. Another navigation element that helps save a visitor’s time is the “Search” box. Whether the visitor is a prospective student hoping to learn about different housing options or a parent concerned about their child’s safety, the search box provides various links to web pages regarding this information. When a visitor is redirected to a new page they can easily return to the home page by clicking on the UAH emblem in the upper left corner. While the website does not provide a link to the top of a web page, the web pages are short enough that a visitor can easily scroll to the top by themselves. With multiple navigation tools, a visitor can quickly and effectively find what they are
Overall, the website was very accessible and easy to navigate. The home page included tabs at the top labeled Health Topics, Data, and Media Centre to name a few. These tabs are helpful for the reader to find what they are looking for and may lead them to explore other topics that they weren’t necessarily looking for also. There is a convenient button along this row of tabs that looks like a house. This tab brings the navigator right back to this home page if they get too far into a certain tab and want to go back to the beginning.
The design of the website is very unique and elegant. For a new user, it’s a little overwhelming at first but after 10 minutes of use it becomes second nature.

On a website the opening page is vital to not only the persons experience on the site, but also the over all impression on the subject. There are several ways that a persons perception can be manipulated to feel a certain way, on a website; the layout, accessibility of information, and images. When accessing the El Paso Zoo website the first thing that catches the attention of the audience is the back ground. Which is the El Paso skyline with the franklin mountains accompanied by some exotic animals. This creates a personal connection with the views by combining something that is familiar and has emotional connection with something new that brings a new excitement to this emotional

Web usability plays a pivotal role which can actually effect the profit of a company. It should be valued that a qualify web site can provide simple but attracting interface that allowing users to catch their needed information effectively and efficiently. "I am sorry but the link you are trying to retrieve is invalid—almost every link on Tuskegee University's new website displays this on the screen". I can only imagine what a frustration this must be for the incoming freshman. Incoming freshman are perhaps the ones who use the website the most out of the faculty, student body, and alumni. The use of the website is primarily used by incoming freshman to locate majors, important documentation, and residence life. Unfortunately, for the class of 2022, this will not be an easy task. Instead, many individuals will find themselves opening numerous new windows, clicking numerous tabs, and relying on luck. One does not have to take Human Factors in Psychology to be aware of how non-user
Smoking is bad for you, so why do it? Quit.com is a website created to guide smokers in their journey to quit smoking with the help of Nicorette and NicoDerm. Once on this site, there are headings labeled across the top that will aid in searching for what the site offers. For example, the diseases chosen are in alphabetical order and can be chosen using the first letter of the word. Another example is the headings are set for children, teens and elders. All of the information listed on this site can be printed and used as education or information. All advertisements on this site are clearly marked as advertisement and guidelines are set as to what the advertisements cannot contain. With all of this, browsing on this site is not difficult.

What skills will the student learn in the classes, so that the student will know what class they will need for their future career. However, one of the plus side of the page is that is very little blank space, which make the page look organized. Furthermore, this website needs to offer a clear and sharp layout of its content, that allowing the students’ to clearly grasp the information presented. Since the pages fairly basic, because it only has a navigation bar on the left- hand side that allows easy access to the different parts of the website, which these different parts of the website are full of unnecessary information, since it full of outdate information, blank pages, basic information about the major, and links that don’t work. Therefore, I think the website structure should be easy for users to navigate. However, each section should have the necessary information for the students to succeed. The layout should help information to pop out by highlight what is the most important element that the viewer need to know or see. Therefore, to make information to pop out the website should be an interactive experience to bring in more student to this major. In addition, the department should remove all the broken links and the links that sent students to empty pages with no information. Moreover, the page is lacking any social media; which is surprising considering how often teenagers use social media,
