While on scene I observed blood droplets in the kitchen, dining room, Living room, laundry room and a long hallway leading into the residence from the backyard. Once outside of the residence I observed further evidence of a physical confrontation, including additional blood spatter and droplets scattered throughout the yard near a burning fire where it appeared, due to multiple empty alcoholic beverage containers the subjects had been drinking.

When you see the shows such as Homicide Hunter or Killer Instincts many times my mom and I try to figure out who is the murder. Most of the time my prediction is right because of the details my mom misses, and putting together all the clues. From then on I realised I had a gift, even if it was I was just watching television show. That is what sparked my interest the criminal justice area. I have contemplated the career choices that would best fit my interest leaving me with Homicide Detective and Criminologist. While both careers deal with criminal justice they differ greatly in the type of work environment, pay, skills/education.

Therefore, DNA is one of the most common things a forensic technician looks for. Forensic technicians investigate crimes. There job is to look for physical evidence that will be collected and later analyzed. While working on an investigation the forensic technician may seem to be looking for a specific sample. It may be a blood sample or even a single drop of saliva. In some cases, clues may lead to a single fingerprint left behind to solving a crime. The suspect assuming he or she has wiped away all traces that would lead them to the crime scene. Never realizing what the suspect might have left behind. This may have seemed irrelevant to the forensic technician. Who is taking part in searching the crime scene. DNA left behind such as a strand of hair leads to a suspect. To the result it may be found in the carpet, or in any other type of clothing.

The role of a Forensic technician varies in many different directions and the process for each evidence material is a huge part in the criminal justice system. What Forensic Technicians do is the base and a huge impact on everyone else’s job, including the investigator and the labs. After doing their job in he crime scene, the evidence they took will be taken to the forensic scientist. Crime scene investigators will look at the photographs and connect their theories based on the crime that occurred. Crime scene preservation should be the most important step to any first responder. This protocol should continue to be followed by anyone who processes the scene. On April 05, 2016 at approximately 1518 hours, I was dispatch to 2004 Pine Street in reference to a death investigation. Upon my arrival, I met with Detective Campbell who was the lead Investigator at the scene. Detective Campbell stated that the victim neighbors reported a strong smell coming from the victim’s (Cortiz Lazarz) residence.
