The Great Depression has to one of the most “Depressing” time that America has ever been through thus far. I say that because that specific event hit directly at home and pretty much everyone was affected. At the end of this event many changes in organization of government and relief/recovery efforts for unemployed people. President Roosevelt sought out to help this people, creating new organizations made specifically for a certain help. Under his rule the entire government had went through a type of renovation through his efforts.

During the Great Depression unemployment had sky rocketed to number unimaginable in such a short period of time. Unemployment spiked in early 1920s, then peaked in 1933, and then rose again in 1937-38. “Roosevelt Recession” of 1937-39 caused by reduction in federal government spending. (Doc J.) FDR replied to this by creating organizations that were for the good of the people and was intended to help bring the help/relief and stop the pain and suffering they have previously been through. The government would then not be as involved with the “Business Community” say they could respond to economic problems better than the government(Doc B.) They started to see the government try to help them by including them in New Deal programs. The Roosevelt administration attempted to include African Americans in the New Deal Programs. The Roosevelt administration was effective in garnering the support of African Americans despite its limitations.(Doc I.) FDR created employment opportunities under his New Deal program. Some New Deal programs addressed economic problems and other slowed recovery. (Doc D.)
