□ EXERCISE 16 Questions * 1. The researchers analyzed the data they collected as though it were at what level of measurement? * a.Nominal * b.Ordinal * c.Interval/ratio * d.Experimental
Because the mean is calculated and mean is the best measure of central tendency when the data of interval or ratio scale. * 2. What was the mean posttest empowerment score for the control group?
The mean posttest empowerment score for the control group is 97.12. * 3. Compare the mean baseline and posttest depression scores of the experimental group. Was this an expected finding? Provide a rationale for your answer.
The mean baseline

In terms of different variable, the Empowerment group’s test scores had the least amount of variability or dispersion because the standard deviation for baseline as well as for posttest is smaller as compare to any other group’s test scores. * 6. did the empowerment variable or self-care self-efficacy variable demonstrate the greatest amount of dispersion? Provide a rationale for your answer.
The self-care self-efficacy variable demonstrate the greatest amount of dispersion as compare to empowerment group because the standard deviation is higher in self-care self-efficacy group. * 7. The mean (Median) is a measure of location (central tendency) of a distribution while the SD is a measure of scale (variability) of its scores. Both mean and SD are measure of descriptive statistics.
* 8. What was the mean severity for renal disease for the research subjects? What was the dispersion or variability of the renal disease severity scores? Did the severity scores vary significantly between the control and the experimental groups? Is this important? Provide a rationale for your answer.
The mean severity for renal disease for the research subjects is increased after the treatment in both the experimental and control group but there is only a slight increase in the mean value for control group which does not seem significant. If we look at the overall mean score of baseline and posttest we can say that the posttest mean score is increased with
The mean is the sum of all of the data values divided by the number of data values. The median is the middle number in a data set, in ascending order. The mean, 178 pounds, tells us the average weight for a football player at Center Grove high school. The median, 175, tells us the 2nd quartile, which is the “middle” value in a list of numbers. The 5-number summary consists of the minimum value, quartile 1, median, quartile 3, and the maximum value. This is the distribution of the ordered observation divided into 5 different summaries. Our group chose to select this data, the weight of Center Grove football players, because it is Tyler Amaro’s old high school. They recently won the state championship this past fall and this specific data set was sufficient for this project.
According to Black (2010:61), the central tendency can be defined as the tendency for values in the data set being analysed, to be gathered around the middle value of the data. In other words the tendency for the values in the data set to be collected around the median. There are three main measures of central tendency namely median, mean and mode (Black, 2010:76-78).
The mean is the numerical average of a set of data, one of the problem of the mean is that the mean, is affected by extreme values. For skewed distributions, the mean is not necessarily the same as the median, or the mode.

chance to be predictive of HRS, nonattendance of hepatomegaly, helter skelter plasma renin activity, Furthermore low serum sodium (Gines et al. , 1993. Montoliu et al. , found that more seasoned age, secondary benchmark serum creatinine, What 's more a secondary CP score were free predictors for HRS with respect to multivariate dissection (Montoliu et al. , 2010). Those resistive list (RI) of the intra-renal veins for doppler ultrasonography might have been likewise found on be An huge predictor of the improvemen from claiming renal dysfunction, including HRS. (Low et al., 2014).
The population addressed in this study are patients that have been diagnosed with CKD and require dialysis treatment. Participants will be conducted via multistage sampling because it provides the highest likelihood that enough participants that fit the criteria will be obtained, yet decreasing variation bias through randomization. A list will be compiled of dialysis clinics in Portland. There are 20 centers nearby, of those 20 locations 10 will be chosen and every patient that is willing to participate and fits the criteria will be included in the study. This is because the criteria for participating in the study is specific and a minimum of 60 participants is required. Half of the validated participants will be placed into the control
An explanation of the study results: What happened? Were there any unexpected findings? What did the authors conclude? What did the results mean, and what are their implications?
Statistics is not only part of a required to create on coursework in schools. Everywhere person looks, statistics is around. Too many people think statistics is difficult though, but it is all around them in real life. Three main descriptive statistics which make data easier to interpret, measure central tendency. They are the mean, measured, and median. Each of these are averages, which everyone is exposed to in everyday life (Stapel, n.d.). All three have specific uses in real life.
Directions: This is a self-assessment of how self-reliant and how empowered you are. Please select from the choices by underlining your answer. Please answer the questions truthfully. There are no right or wrong answers.
Design/Methodology/approach- Qualitative studies in combination with quantitative facts are reviewed to unveil psychological empowerment , it origin, significance, antecedents and consequences.
‘Mean’ is the total of all the values in the set of data divided by the
The Mean, Median and Mode are all valid measures of central tendency, but under different conditions, some measures of central tendency become more appropriate to use than others.
