Wednesday, April 7th, 1994 started out like any other day, I was attending Jr. hHigh sSchool, in St. George Utah. As a I was a young 12 year old girl that was obsessed with gymnastics, I breathed it, studied it, and lioved it. Gymnastics was my Life.! I daydreamed about competing in front of hundreds of people, lights dimmed down, the spotlight right on me as I performed each skill I worked so hard at perfecting each day at practice. I would picture myself going over my routines, every step, every pose, each body positions, how I’d present myself, f . . . . everything. I wanted to be a college gymnast.

Traveling is one of my family’s favorite things to do. The family has visited numerous places throughout the United States, however, none are as memorable as Atlanta, Georgia. In Atlanta, there are many places to go and sights to see such as: Cola-cola factory, Cabbage Patch Kids Factory, Under Ground Mall, the Zoo, Atlanta Braves Stadium, Six Flags Over Georgia, Stone Mountain Park, and the Atlanta Aquarium, are all in or near the city of Atlanta. The three that we visit on every trip to Atlanta are Six Flags, Stone Mountain, and the Atlanta Aquarium.

"BEEEEEP!" Turning off the familiar but annoying sound of the alarm, lying in bed until the last possible second, I admit: this is the big day. All those practices and early mornings will be rewarded today. Finally crawling out of bed to get ready for the meet, I grab my goggles, a towel, water, and a quick breakfast on the way out the door. Checking in with the coach before finding the rest of the team as the pool area becomes louder with every passing minute while more and more people arrive at the big event. Sitting and resting, I try to save all my energy for the race. I put my headphones in and turn music on as I try to begin to focus. Talking to friends to try to calm nerves. It is time.

In my paper I will be discussing what medical terminology is, where it came from, and how it is applied to medical assistant careers as well as how it is applied to medical administration careers. I will give examples of the importance of medical terminology and specific examples of where medical careers use medical terminology on a day to day basis. I will also give a brief summary and definition of what medical terminology stands for. After reading my paper you should have a good concept of medical terminology’s importance, use, and why medical terminology is not just applied to medical assisting jobs but also why it is important for medical administration employees to also be familiar and have a good grasp on medical terminology.

Physician assistants help the community everyday by helping with illness, and a lot of other health issues. They work every day to help and treat people and they are a big help to doctors. I started taking tumbling classes to work and improve my skills. During the summer, I started all star cheer which greatly improved my skills. That taught me that people I don't know can become your best friend. Also I learned how to handle disappointments and being replaced better. Throughout the season I grew a lot, I learned many new skills. During competition season I learned to never give up. Even though I could barely breath, I had to give all my effort. If my team wanted to win we had to work as one. If one person was struggling, we all were. We were united as

My head was going crazy, I could barely think straight.I was off to a great start. I has stuck all my landings and I just need one more Tumbling pass to go, and if I had stuck it then I would qualify to Nationals. My brain was rushing super fast that it felt like I was off the floor.

Our car rolled and bounced along the grey and dusty gravel road that reeked of gasoline and exhaust. Finally, we came to the entrance of the patchy green fields to start my first practice. I soon learned that there would be no need to be nervous as we all worked hard on this team and all became friends and were very serious about the sport. Every week we attended the five hours of practice and worked our butts off every practice. Finally, It became time to talk about our first games together that were that weekend. Before practice started coach pulled us aside and talked to us about the tourney. We were excited and prepared, but I think all of us were a little nervous. When we got to the tournament we warmed up for our game and and did some quick warm up drills. The game started and my chest was pounding out of my chest thumping so hard I could feel every beat. FWEEE! The whistle sounded and our team advanced on the field passing and running around. The ball was passed to me and I panicked and passed it right back. I realized that I needed to calm down so took a little break on the bench and settled down and got back out on the

Arriving there was culture shock, thousands of teams were practicing for their big moment in any patch of grass or open area they could find. We arrived at our competition tent on Saturday morning with a rush of emotions. We started with flawless warmup, giving us the confidence to hold our heads high. With the thought in the back of our minds that “ no one has done or attempted this before”, “ we are only one of four teams in northwest Indiana to make it this far”, or “ what if were not good enough”. I stepped up realizing the team was looking at me to guide them through this bittersweet moment. I said calmly “ Ladies we are the best of the best. We have accomplished an incredible amount this season and the outcome of this competition will not take any of that away. I will not ask you to go out there and hit every stunt and throw every tumbling pass perfectly; but I will ask you to go out there and give it all you’ve got. If you walk off that floor without any regrets, thats all I could have ever wanted.”
