In comparing Thomas Jefferson’s Letter to the Danbury Baptists, The Declaration of Independence, and U.S. Constitution, it is evident that the basis of all three documents is the idea that all human beings possess God-given fundamental rights and that government is created to protect those rights. This is important because it defined the rights of liberty and equality of all American citizens as outlined in John Locke’s natural law thesis (Martin, page 113). It was signed by 56 delegates to the Continental Congress, and outlined the tangible reasons for becoming independent from Great Britain. The document contains a lot of meaning that is in-depth and gives history and meaning to each part. The Declaration of Independence is the fundamental document of democracy. It says governments are artificial creations, established by the people, "deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed," and charged by the people to ensure the equal right of all to "life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness." According to document A, it says that our constitution favor the many instead of the few and that's why it's called a democracy. It also says that the all our freedom which we enjoy with our government it also extends to our ordinary life. Fear is our chief protection against this, teaching us to obey the magistrates and the laws.

The Declaration of Independence states a strong exclamation that structures the rights of citizens as well as the formation of our history. “We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal,” clearly emphasizes the value of each person in the United States. In addition, it institutes that as an independent nation, the United States can only go forward with and by the people. Back in our nation’s history, the Declaration was written as proof that each person had rights, and without protection or consent, citizens cannot be ruled. The United States has built up by the basis of rights and actions of citizens, because of the principles that define and can declare those actions.

The United States government has fulfilled the American democracy however, there has been major fulfilments that have not been completed. The start to our democracy begin with our Enlightenment ideas which influenced our founding fathers. These ideas dealt with Natural Rights, Social Contract, and Revolution. The Natural Rights idea comes from a famous philosopher named John Locke. He basically states that every human has certain rights that are not given to them by the government and those rights that aren 't mentioned are called Natural Rights. This idea was put into effect with the 9th Amendment, this Amendment means there are other rights that may exist aside from the ones directly mentioned in the constitution, and even though they are not mention it doesn 't mean that they cannot be violated.

By definition, democracy is a type of political system in which all members share the same level of power, but it is also the framework for the government of multiple countries including the United States of America. Athenian democracy, created near 400 B.C. in Athens, Greece, was a direct system where participating citizens had the opportunity to vote directly on legislative and executive bills. The founding fathers of the United States took the Athenian’s idea and created the idea of “representative democracy”, where the citizens of a nation were able to elect representatives who would make decisions for them. In fact, the United States could be considered to be more of a constitutional republic than democracy, since the Athenian democracy that influenced them is not a “true democracy”. Even though differences between the two governments exist, ancient Athenians heavily influenced the Founding Fathers of the United States of America to form a democratic government, allow representatives to vote on legislation, and to provide equality and fair trials to their people.

America went through many trials and tribulations to earn their freedom, they faced many wars and casualties, the biggest step America took to gain independence was the written document of the Declaration of Independence. There was three basic parts to this document they were basic rights, British wrongs, and the creation of a new nation. The person in charge of theses three basic parts was Thomas Jefferson in his first argument he claims that all men were created equal and that they should be able to be happy and have freedom. Jefferson says this by saying “equal station to which the laws of nature and which Nature’s God entitles them”, also by saying this he mean that men should people to have their own opinion and thoughts. In this document Jefferson makes an even more valid point of why men should have basic rights he says “they are endowed by their creator with certain inalienable rights, that are among these are life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness” , Jefferson says this in a very refound way.

The authors of the Declaration of Independence assert the necessity of a government that "derives their just powers from the consent of the governed." This system of power lasts as trustworthy and ethical, assuming the majority of people believe in the importance of creating a godly and moral society. Due to the fact that the authors clearly stress the need for a God-centered government, they feel strongly enough to support a democracy because it prevails as the form of government most likely to uphold the previously stated

The Declaration of Independence states that every citizen is granted the right to life, liberty and pursuit of happiness. Furthermore, it marks the turning point in American history where the United States gained its independence from the British Government. The Declaration of Independence argues for the protection of people’s, and to a certain extent, negates government power.
