As an experienced technical and entertainment-based writer, I have discovered I have a passion for communicating with and helping other people. I have discovered this desire through numerous projects involving writing, editing, and article development. I hope to bring this desire and experience to your development and project team at Cornucopia Gaming.
Many companies are looking for technical writers with a flair of creativity and an eye for detail. Throughout my four years at the Spartanburg Herald-Journal, I was provided the opportunity to better myself as a content creator and as a designer. I also find companies look for technical writers proficient in communication and in editing. My time as Editor-in-Chief at The Odyssey provided me
As a writer, I find myself getting lost. Typically, when I go to start writing I hit a brick wall. It’s as if all my thoughts suddenly escape my mind and I draw a blank. It takes me forever to conjure up some form of a thesis and then takes even longer to figure out what I should write to support it in a way that makes sense. Then, attempting to find a way to organize my ideas and put them together in cohesive paragraphs seems like an impossible task in the moment. It is not uncommon for me to get flustered and just throw something down on the paper because I get anxious seeing how much work is left to do. If I end up going back to read it over prior to submission,
Throughout high school I participated in numerous volunteer opportunities. I had the opportunity to be my high school's basketball team manager my junior year of high school. As the lady blazers manager I was in charge of attending games, practices, recording fouls and games, as well as organizing the food for the players after their games. However, I also devoted my time to things other than sports. I also volunteered every year at my school's registration for new student. My school, IDEA Quest, places a lot of emphasis on new student registration because new students are given an opportunity to preview their life at IDEA. Therefore as a volunteer of the new student registration I would speak at the student panel about my experience as an
As I embark in my journey through the first year composition at SFSU, I intend to maintain my previous academic goals to improve myself by practicing and taking risks. Having the willingness to drastically improve myself through a small set of goals and having the philosophy and ideology from high school literature, I intend to use these tendencies to to be successful in college level English. Reading constantly and using the the writing format as a guide to express my of individuality is what I hope in the long run makes me successful in first year composition.
Since an early age my passion has always been to help others. In every aspect of my educational career and in my jobs, I have always determined that helping someone is the goal. Helping people is a goal that can be achieved in any work field regardless of what one does. For the last five years, I have volunteered for a non-profit organization named “Hogar de Ninos: Semillas de Fe” (translates to “A Home for Children: Seeds of Faith”). In this organization, a group of young adults have traveled to the Dominican Republic once a year for a period of two weeks each trip. Our goal is to help the impoverished children. These children have been exposed to countless traumatic events including being physically, emotionally, and sexually abused. The organizations mission consists of helping develop these children
As long as I can remember, my favorite subject has always been English. From a young age, I craved an entertaining fantasy and begged my parents to tell stories. Eventually, my parents purchased a cabinet full of books for my sister and I to enjoy. I was a bit hesitant to start reading, but once I learned to read I could not cease. Reading was an adventure; I could discover the world and widen my imagination. Consequently, my obsession with writing fiction began. I wrote what I knew as a child, which was mostly realistic fiction consisting of complications between friends and families, always with a positive denouement. While my stories may have been dull and repetitive, I wrote until my hands were stained black with lead along with the notion that I would become a published author.
According to J.K. Rowling, “I would like to be remembered as someone who did the best she could with the talent she had”(J.K. Rowling Quotes). Because I want to be remembered as someone who did the best she could, I can relate to J.K. Rowling. I did not mind writing when I was little as long as it was not assigned.
When was a small child, I had a lot of imagination and was burning with creativity. My sister and I had a composition notebook full of ideas for our own tree-house. Even though they were crazy and unrealistic, we still put a lot of passion into them. There is this odd thing I do when I listen to music, I started jumping around in my room with my arms spread out like a bird so it looks like I'm flying. My mom calls it "Dance Fantasies!" and she would wiggle her fingers while saying it. Today, the book is long gone, my sister is a freshman college and I'm a high school Senior. Our minds have drifted from all those insane projects we did as kids. Nowadays, I have thought about putting my imagination and creativity into my future career. I remember when I was an eighth grade I thought about what I wanted to do once I got into high school, and I narrowed my options down to Culinary Arts.
I have always had an interest and an aptitude for writing. I attacked high school and college writing assignments and often times received positive feedback. My interest in scientific writing specifically began during my first research experience in the summer after my freshman year of college. I really enjoyed the research, but I found that what I enjoyed more was reading articles about different methods and approaches. When it came time to write a summary and abstract of my specific research, I delighted in reading the articles and compiling background information as well as concisely describing the work I did. My interest in scientific writing continued to blossom after my sophomore year of college when I was able to conduct cancer biology
I grew up a young man with a opportunity to excel in a family owned business that was based on hard work. For my father never having a formal education seemed to work fine. This mind set bled down to the next generation. I truly thought that hard work and learning what I needed to run that business from him would be all I need but in October of 2004 all that changed. The 25 year old company was no more and I was not only out of a job, career and inheritance but I did not have the education to keep myself employed at the same level. I have the technical skills to do my job well, l however I am missing the educational portion that I feel will be a long term benefit for not only myself but also my family. Finishing what I had started years
In the summer of 2016, I moved away from home and worked at a summer camp for three months. Over those three months, I learned more about myself than I had at any time after elementary school. This self-realization has helped me find a passion for the things I do now and for everything I want to do in the future.
Project management became relevant in my life long before I even understood its propensity. It began at age fourteen when I started a neighborhood club for kids with the ambitious mission to save the earth. To create the project, my first agenda item was to recruit new members. I carried this out by going door to door and explaining my cause to the neighbors and asking if they would allow their kids to join the club. I then hosted a first meeting in my parent’s garage and was able to form an inspiring group of 6 members. As the head of the club I developed our first undertaking, which was to ask our neighbors to donate their cans for the group to recycle. To do so, I asked every member to collect as many empty cans as they could and
A time I personally experienced the fact that communication in the workplace is very important is when I experienced it for myself. Every day I communicate with others just like most. I am a desk receptionist in my father’s office. Therefore, communication is all I really do all day. Talking to others in a respectful and well-mannered way is one of my most important tasks of the day. I love greeting people and helping others when I am at work to satisfy their wants and needs in any possible way I can.
Ever since I graduated from high school, I had no idea what I wanted to do or who I wanted to be in life. All I knew is that I wanted to do something that was worth while and would make a difference in today’s society. I couldn’t decide if I wanted to go to a community college or a university. I would weigh my options between the two. I would say to myself, “If I go to a community college, I would graduate quicker. But if I go to a university, it would take longer.” In order to help make a quick and effective decision, I began to ask questions and finding out more information. After carefully reviewing all advantages or disadvantages of both types of schooling, I decided a university. When I first came to Winston Salem State University,
I am Tomoko Ago, seeking for a PhD opportunity in a UK university, hopefully starting next autumn, 2018. I hope you don’t mind my getting in touch, but I’d like to enquire whether you are currently accepting graduate students.
First of all I should say that it is my great honor to be officially admitted into Hangzhou Foreign Language School. It's without exaggeration to say that I am counting the day to participate into this community. To get a better and deeper understanding of me, I will firstly give a brief introduction of myself, mainly focusing on my strong and weak points as well as my achievement.
