Since Suyoung Kwon and I had shared the same interests in musculoskeletal disorder, we became as a team. We were the group number 2 of the presentation, the topic of the presentation entitled “Core Stabilization Exercise for Low Back Pain Patient”. Hard working together through 6 weeks, I felt the great meaning of the word as “COLLABORATION” and “SHARING” while I was working with my colleague. The following information will provide more information about our presentation. To start with, what worked well for me in the process of developing the presentation? In my viewpoint, I do believe that the effectiveness of “collaboration” and “sharing” is the important factor for developing delightful time not only for searching the articles, but also preparing the presentation. For example, prior start working, we tried to make a decision about the topic of literature review based on our areas of interest. Then, we shared our experiences and knowledge to set the goal of accomplishing the assignment along with applied the collaboration approach throughout working together. Therefore, collaboration and sharing are the essential factors for balancing team focus, appreciation of diversity, and effective …show more content…
Preparing for the presentation, we clarified our roles based on our strengthening and empowered each other and built confidence in our teamwork. Furthermore, we used the google docs program for preparing the sophisticated work slide presentation to transfer the article, table, diagram, and PowerPoint; the program is very useful for enhancing effective two-way communications. On the day presentation, I did sincerely appreciate the way we paid respect to each other ideas during the presentation; we tried to help each other and aimed at team’s goals. Hence, clarify roles, build trust, and pay respect to each other are the most important keys for a teamwork during the
Through leading our first group session about self-care, Amanda and I gained valuable group facilitation experience that was helpful in leading our second session. Our second group facilitation had many strengths, including the fact that we moved closer to the working stage and helped members to explore guilt related to self-care, a common theme in the group. However, although the group went well overall, there are still ways that we could improve, such as using certain techniques to “go deeper” and better managing time.
To further understand Belbin Team Role Theory, I, together with four students formed a team and simulated as being authorized by the Songjiang Government Bureau to investigate into the current situation and the prospect of the higher education industry in Songjiang District. Through unremitting team efforts, we successfully demonstrated our findings and recommended several ideas via a formal presentation. Reviewing the three-months-long process of cooperation, I really found this experience of learning meaningful and fruitful. This reflective essay is a conclusion of my sympathetic introspection of the
First of all, to be put in a group of individuals that I had never met or interacted with before was always going to be difficult. The process of getting to know them better and finding the strengths and weaknesses of each team member was hard at first but the more we worked on the presentation, the better we became at communicating and getting the
Reflect critically and individually on the experience of producing your presentation as a shared piece of work, and discuss the implications for collaborative working as an underpinning principle of health and social care policy. At its simplest concept, collaboration infers that people from different professional and academic backgrounds form a working relationship for the purpose of enhanced service provision. (Audrey, L. 2003). The SCIE (2013) suggest that because issues within health and social care can often be complicated and service users may have a multitude of needs, collaboration is extremely important in health and social care as it allows practitioners to share ideas and develop their knowledge.
The 12-step group I observed is Sunrise Semester, an alcohol-anonymous group open to women. The group meeting was held in a spacious room in a Catholic church. The group leader sat in the front, surrounded by the group members. The group had a relatively large size, with nearly 20 people ranged from the middle age to the elderly. Some of the members just started being sober while some older members have been sober for more than 20 years. Most of the group members are Caucasians and the rest was Hispanics, Indians and Philippines. The atmosphere of the group meeting was warm, friendly and engaging. The meeting started from some housekeeping announcements and the sharing of the group leader, who is not a mental health professional but has been
In this essay I will concentrate on inter-professional collaboration which is cornerstone for providing better care to patients. I will try to examine some benefits and opportunities, while identifying the barriers and issues to effective collaborative work between employees. Throughout my essay I will be using LEARN format for better reflection on my clinical practice, my thoughts and feeling. As a nursing student in Early Identification team which is focused on maternal and children’s health, I will discuss my experience as being a part of this team.
Teamwork is the joint action by a group to complete a given task. This was displayed by group 20 as each member contributed their individual knowledge and skills towards the team as well as the course objective.
One was team, one will be the individual. To be honest, I have never done any form of presentation before in my school life. The reason is that I come from China which is a totally different country. We have another education mode in my country, there is always no need to do presentations or projects in school work. And now, I have outcome my edge. I have discussed with my teacher and group members about creating an interesting and meaningful presentation. Then, we made it, and I was proud of myself and all my team members. Doing business is my dream, and the first presentation was about setting up a company in a specific community. I believe this topic was
On 7/2/2015 at 1300, VUPD dispatched Officer Hughes to Lowes at Vanderbilt 7th floor room 750 in reference to harassing communications.
To analyse the presentation and teamwork I need to be able to understand everyone has different experiences and different ways of working and had their own view on teamwork. My confidence grew as I got to know the team. Giving the presentation has helped me with my confidence, which I will need when I am working in the health care. I have also learned to speak up more and encourage others to take part when they where being quiet and not pulling their weight. It was good to do research using the appropriate methods, looking at journals and professional sites. I managed to hold it together during the presentation in front of everyone. I knew the presentation was not going to go as well has it could due to the lack of practice. The reason I was so nervous was
In my undergraduate work, almost all of my classes that were directly related to my major required at the least one group project. In the beginning this was not something I was very fond of mostly because I had some bad experiences when it came to working with others on projects. Usually it was the problem of people not pulling their own weight, and doing their parts to help with the tasks. When it came time to have the assignment complete it was even harder to give a grade to those people. I did not want to be the guy who caused someone to throw someone under the bus. However, after I thought about it, I did want to be that guy because in the real world on a work project if there was someone who did not pull their weight in the job projects would not be successful. So, when it came time for grades, I was always honest, and usually if a person did not do their part I told it how it was.
1- What role did you play in team meetings or discussions (online or face-to-face)? What ideas or. work did you contribute? Consider your verbal (vocal or written tone, etc.) and nonverbal communication (body language, facial expressions, etc).
Teamwork can be complex and challenging given task and interpersonal issues, level of group motivation and expected performance standards. The concrete experience spoken about in this reflection piece is in reference to the effectiveness of myself as a group member and the group, working to write a report outlining the organisation and structure of Volkswagen. Dennison (2009) applies Kolb’s learning cycle (1981, 1984) which suggests that learning moves through a continuous cycle, between having an experience, and then reflecting on that action. This cycle has been developed from Lewin’s (1951) model for experiential learning. Reflection termed by Boud, Keogh and Walker (1985) ‘is a forum of response to the learner to experience’(p. 18). On reflection, the early set group dynamics was a defining factor in the experience, and how the team conducted themselves throughout the task. Meyerson, Wick and Kramer (1996) note that ‘such rapidly converging groups require methods for developing “swift trust”’ (p. 8), which can explain why initial group dynamics are so important. I took on multiple team roles, including group leader, which could be translated into the team not performing collectively on a high level, however, I could view this as a personal ineffectiveness of my leadership style.
“Group work is a form of voluntary association of members benefiting from cooperative learning that enhances the total output of the activity than when done individually”.
After completing the self-assessment for module #2, I was a bit surprised to discover I scored 40% in directive supervision and 40% in nondirective supervision. Before completing this assessment I thought for sure I would score higher in collaborative supervision. However, after learning more about Glickman’s supervisory approaches, I quickly realized that my definition of collaborative supervision was not accurate. I thought collaborative supervision was one size fits all. I believed teachers needed and wanted reflective problem solving with the goal of working together to figure out a solution. What I didn’t take into consideration is where the teacher was in their personal and professional development. It makes sense to me now how collaborative
