Child A was observed on Wednesdays and Fridays. Child A was observed while he was being taught, while he was taking test, while he was doing his work, while he was presenting projects and while he was in physical education class. The dates Child A was observed were October 9th, 16th, 21st 28th and November 6th, 13th, 18th 20th. Child A stood out from his fellow classmates for many reasons. Child A is a fun loving child but does have trouble communication with his classmates. Child A always takes an assignment one step further. Child A always does his best and is proud of his work. The observer caught attention of Child A right from the start and knew that Child A would be great for the Child Study assignment. The observer would keep an extra close eye on Child A and his work.

The teacher would give Child A space on the round table so he can have more room for his books. The teacher would always make sure Child A was on the right page, because there was many times he was not. She really cares for him and his development in and outside. Child A does not really show any emotions, feelings or appreciation regarding his teacher. With the physical education teacher as well Child A would listen to what the teacher had to say regarding rules but would do it again. Child’s A teacher took a much nicer caring approach than the physical educational teacher. His main teacher would say nicely with a caring voice “ok (insert name) you need to open to the same page as us”. As the physical education teacher would just tell him with a straight voice” (insert name) you NEED TO stop running when I stay
I will be observing a seven-year-old child for my project. What I have learned from being a parent and watching my kids as they grow up the social emotional, physical and intellectual changes that occur in children between birth and the end of adolescence are that they all progress at individual intervals from dependency to increasing individualism. Because these developmental changes may be strongly influenced by genetic factors and events during prenatal life, genetics and prenatal development are usually included as part of the built in parenting skills we all possess. When children are born they have no sense of fear but quickly develop a fear of what
On Wednesday, February 3, 2016 at 1500 hours I was dispatched to 119 S. Main St. for an assault in progress. Schuylkill County Communications (COUNTY) advised me it is being reported that a male is assaulting two females out in the street. COUNTY advised me that screaming and yelling can be heard in the background on the telephone.
The observation was a very interesting and informative process. It gave me the opportunity to apply different theories of development. The biggest advantage of this psychological method is the opportunity to observe the subject in the natural surrounding and watch his natural behavior.
Through out the observation both children were moving from place to place. The little girl would grab one toy then go find another one. She would play one type of activity then go back to building blocks. She would stack blocks and connect the rail road tracks for the train. For approximately 3 minutes or more the girl would stay fully engaged trying connecting the railroad tracks. She would forget that she was in a room full of other toys, for a moment I possibly thought she could be autistic because she was able to stay focused on one activity for a long period of time and not engage other children. Her fine motor skills were adequate for her age she was able to hold objects in her hand. While she was fascinated in putting together the railroad
All children are different in their unique way. The goal of this assignment was to observe different children in an uninterrupted environment. Although all the children observed were the same age, they all acted differently during their observation. The differences in the way we react to different situations are what make us human. These differences can be explained through the theories that different psychologist have developed over the years. Some children react better to things like praise from a teacher or being able to be creative in the activities that they are participating in.

For our child observation project, we interacted with a seven year old boy named Nolan.
I begin observing Faith Sanchez a six-year-old, who is in the first grade at Emerson Elementary School on November 7, 2017 over the course of three days. The observation took place at the child’s home, where we had access to the materials needed for the different set of skills that I would be conducting during the observational period. The reason for observing Faith was to see if her Physical, Cognitive and Psychosocial domains are developing at the average range for a school age child or if she was showing signs of atypical development.
Subject “Chris” is a 7 year old middle class Caucasian male. Observation is taking place in the child’s home over the course of two separate afternoons. Chris is a friendly and well spoken child who is small for his age. Chris is the youngest child in his family and both observations take place while his siblings are home. In each case one or both parents are absent.
S.P. is 4 year old toddler who lives at home with her parents. She is first and only child. For the Ages and Stages Questionnaire, she was observed in her house and her learning center with her parent present in two different days. She lives in a one three apartment with her biological father and mother. Both of them are registered nurses working in same hospital. S.P. is their first and only child. She was born on 12/22/2013(50 months and 7 days) at full term with no birth related problems. Both of her parent work full time, but her mother stays with her more frequently. She has had no significant child illnesses or complications except one episode of pneumonia developed during the birth. She attends the early learning center in the neighborhood
The purpose of this paper is to locate, observe, and collect information on a school-aged child between the ages of six and 17 in different settings. Once the child is identified, a pseudonym will be assigned to the child. The child will be observed on his development, to include: school performance, emotional characteristics, social characteristics, cognitive characteristics, motivational characteristics, self-concept, interests, language development, moral development, and health. Also, the child will be placed in proper development stages according to theories based on the work of Piaget, Vygotsky, Erickson, and Kohlberg. The goal of this paper is to develop a comprehensive portrait of the subject.
For the morning exercise children were taken to the backyard of the daycare on a beautiful day. The children repeated exercise after the teacher. One boy, named Joshua, came to the daycare much later, when all the children already started exercise. Apparently he had not yet woken up, because as he had just descended to the daycare’s site, immediately began to be capricious. The teacher’s assistant stood next to him in case he did not interfere with other children. However, Joshua did not listen to teacher assistant when she kindly asked him to be quiet. All children started pay attention on Joshua’s unappropriated behavior. The teacher said to him if he won’t to do sports exercise, he may wait in class with another teacher. He agreed. But,
I went to the Gracepoint Church’s Fall Fest on Halloween eve. Many interactive booths were prepared for the children, such as ring toss, dance floor, fishing for rubber dolphins, bean bag toss, beading station, and face painting. I hid behind my roommate who was working at the face painting booth that night. The location was perfect because of the high chairs at the booth gave me an easy view of the families in line and the children at the face painting station. I focused this observation on one pair of siblings, whom I will refer to as Jane (5 years old) and John (6 years old). Most children were impatiently waiting in line with their parents, including Jane and John. The two children discussed profusely what painting they wanted on their
For this child observation, I decided to observe my younger brother Jacob. Jacob is 5 years old, but he insisted that I write that he is almost 6. He is also in kindergarten this year and loving every second of being a loud, rowdy boy. I suppose I am at an advantage in this observation since I have seen the numerous developments in Jacob’s life thus far.
Observations from Jose took place on his science and math classrooms respectively. At the beginning of the class, the teacher asked a question to the group, Jose quickly raised his hand to answer. He quietly remained at his desk while the teacher explained the lesson in detail to the whole class. During the rest of the period, he calmly remained at his desk and participated in the discussion at the proper time. The teacher showed a video to the class and asked some questions, most of the class tried to answer them, but Jose didn’t seem interested as he was with his head down on his arms. The next day during math period, students were working in small groups. Jose actively participated in the class discussion. He carefully reviewed his paperwork with his peers and asked a few questions to the teacher’s assistant. Jose followed the teacher commands until the class finished. During the interview process, Jose mentioned that his favorite subjects were reading and science, conversely the subject that gives him most trouble is English because kids in the class laugh at him. Jose thinks that learning is natural for him and he can complete assigned work, however, doesn’t feel being as smart as the other students. When with his friends, he likes to hang out, play games and soccer. About his other classmates, he stated not getting along with them because they are always pushing or tickling him. Jose reported having no problems with the teachers or at school in general. On weekends, he
