5. Sound is the movement of air molecules brought about by a source of vibration. Skin senses – touch, pressure, temperature, and a pain – play a critical role in survival, making us aware of potential danger to our bodies. Thus, sound and skin senses allowed passengers to detect the aircraft’s motion. For example, ears start to feel weird and heavy pressure on your body.
THE CASE OF:
THE WOMAN WHO DREAMS OF STRESS (P. 157)
1. If I were her friend, I would tell her that normally there are 4stages of sleep. Stage 1 sleep is the stage of transition between wakefulness and sleep. Stage 2 sleep is a sleep deeper than that of stage 1, characterized by a slower, more regular wave pattern. Stage 3 sleep is a sleep characterized by slow brain waves, with greater peaks and valleys in the wave pattern than stage 2 sleep. Stage 4 sleep is the deepest stage of sleep. Rapid eye movement, or REM, sleep and contrasts with stages 1- 4, which are collectively labeled non – REM sleep. REM sleep usually accompanied by dreams, which – are experienced by everyone during some part of the night. Thus, I would explain her that dreaming is a normal experience during a sleep and people usually dream about their everyday activities.

Dr. Jill Bolte Taylor describes her experience of a stroke in her left hemisphere on December 10, 1996 causing her to lost the ability to move or talk, as well as her self awareness. Throughout her presentation, she mentions the basic functions of the two hemispheres of our brain: right and left hemisphere. Taylor argues both sides of the brain functions differently and process various of information. Taylor defines the right hemisphere of the human brain is about the “present moment” or “right here, right now”, it processes with pictures and learn physically based on our movements. She compares the right hemisphere to a “parallel processor”, whereas she compares the left hemisphere as a “serial processor”. Taylor defines the left hemisphere

The main purpose or mission of the Greenhill Community Center was to provide human service programs for learning, growth, and enrichment throughout life within an intergenerational setting. The mission seems to fill the need in the demographical setting of the location. The center is located in one of the poorest cities on the East Coast. In the textbook it states a mission as being “the reason an organization exists, and it must be the starting point for its planning.” (Worth, p.172) The mission of the center is very sound, but in the process of hiring a new director, I think the mission focus was lost. I saw a couple of incidences of “mission creep“ in the reading. (Worth, p.173) One being the focus the trustees put on not
Explain to her (through her daughter as necessary) what you will be doing. You might want to explain that t takes extra time to listen to her heart & that just because you listen for a long time does not indicate there is a problem. Move your stethoscope in inch-long increments, in a Z pattern across the chest, from the base of the heart, across & down, then over to the apex. Although heart sounds are generally lower in pitch,
