According to true colors I am a green. The twenty words that best describes me are analytical, calm, cool, investigative, strength, creative, strategic thinker, knowledgeable, visionary, enthusiastic, independent thinker, future focus, objective, tough minded, meaningless dialogue, emotional displays, subjective thinking, social function, challenging and flexible.

I am attending Marshall University because it truly feels like this is the school for me. I have attended activities on the campus during my time in high school like the Summer Healthcare Pipeline Initiative and I feel that through those experiences I have been able to experience the campus enough to know that this is where I belong. When I have talked to students in the programs for the major that I am interested in they always have nothing but good things to say, and I think that's says a lot about how this university. Lastly, I appreciate that the location of Marshall is close enough to my hometown of South Charleston for me to stay close to my family and friends and it is far enough for me to be able to gain independence.

I am attending GCU to improve my education and myself and to achieve my goals for the future.

Ashford University is a instituion that holds itself with great prestige and respect. While attending I'll be able to advance my knowledge of teaching and children’s emotional, social, and physical needs to better help them grow. I feel it will push my career and academic goals in the right direction aswell as push my limits academically.

Recently, my appeal for more financial aid has been rejected. While this is a disappointment, I would like to further explain my situation as to why I am asking for more financial help. While I first started the college process, I was engaged and eager to finally step out of my comfort zone. After researching Ithaca for the past years and visiting during accepted students day, I knew that Ithaca College was the best fit for me. Looking at “Wellesley 100”, what impressed me at first glance was number 26, the impressive list of scientific equipment that are available at Wellesley College. Owing to my parents experience in the field of biomedicine and their influence upon me, I have always been intrigued by the methodologies and types of equipment used to conduct the various research that have built the field of biology and biomedicine. I am pursuing the Student Intern Program because I want to challenge myself in a structured scientific environment. I want to prepare for college rigor and potential research opportunities. The variety of studies your program offers intrigues me because this internship would push boundaries for me--would I truly enjoy lab work in a wet lab? Would I be satisfied with my projects? The experience could change my path in the sciences, which is an interesting idea because for years now, I have been interested in pursuing a medical career--specifically, ophthalmology. I am interested in ophthalmology for a few reasons: biology has always held my attention and is my forte; eyes are fascinating to me; and, perhaps most importantly, I have strong stomach in regards to the human body and its operations.To prepare for a science career, I am investigating colleges with internship and study abroad programs. Swarthmore College is my top choice for many reasons, including that nearly twenty percent of its students go on to receive doctoral degrees. Since the time when I was little, my parents always encourage me to do the best, work hard, become educated and have a positive life style at a very young age. My earliest memories are that of reading interesting books because I love to read and do my science whiz experiments. However, I also had great interests in playing with Lego pieces and conducting fun chemistry games in my own tiny lab. It was a fun time for me; at least that’s how I recall it now. The only things I had to worry about were: what will I have for lunch today, which chemistry game or Lego pieces do I want to play with and my team winning the sports games I use to compete in.

A critical moment during my undergraduate career is when I came to the realization that it is alright for me not to know what to do with my future. I realized that I was doing the right thing by furthering my education so that once I finally did know what career I wanted to pursue I would then have a degree to help me stand out. Once more, Dr. Reed convincing me to pursue a degree in Communication is one of the best pieces of advice I acquired during my undergraduate career, if not ever. I most likely would not have the confidence I currently have in obtaining a degree that I have no idea what I am going to with once I graduate.

When I go to the University of North Carolina Asheville, I will bring with me a curiosity that only those who make the biggest technological breakthroughs in the world possess. Throughout my life I have had the opportunity to grow and adapt with technology as it becomes one of the biggest markets in the world. At the young age of ten, I was introduced to the computer world. I was immediately intrigued and found one of the many passions I would come to find. This is just the beginning of my future.

In the words of civil rights great Mahatma Gandhi, “Live as if you were to die tomorrow. Learn as if you were to live forever.” Receiving an education, in my opinion, is the foremost responsibility of every individual who walks this Earth. Education, however, has different meanings for different people. In some cultures, an education may include learning agrarian or farming techniques. In many other cultures, an education consists of attending primary school, secondary school and later attending college. No matter how the concept of education is prescribed in a given society, this fact remains true: everyone desires to have learned more when they leave this world than they did when they came in. Trying to decide what to do for the rest of my life is a hassle. I have to consider what I do well, what I enjoy, and how much income I would like to make. No one wants to wake up every morning hating their lives because they have to work long hours doing something they do not enjoy just to earn an income. The more a person loves their job, the better they will be at it and the more they will be willing to go to work. After spending many years being indecisive about my future, I have finally committed to pursue a career in speech pathology at Nicholls State University.

If someone asked me where I am going to be in ten years, this would be my answer. I will have a great, high-paying job, and beautiful wife and family, and a nice sports car parked in front of my lovely house. When I look into the future, I see myself being successful and happy. Even though I always pictured myself this way, I never worried too much about how I would get there. I feel the Suffolk University can lay the groundwork for making these dreams into reality.

Syracuse University is an outstanding place of higher education. It provides a diverse, stimulating, and exciting classroom, and one that truly teaches its students how to live a life of value.
