Apple Inc. was founded in 1977. To date, this company has continually offered a wide range of products to meet the growing demands of customers all over the world. The current company’s code is so undoubtedly written that it leaves no room for misinterpretation or misunderstanding. Company standing affects the way in which several stakeholders behave towards an organizations influence; for example, employee loyalty and quality, customer satisfaction and loyalty. It is no surprise why CEO’s of large companies see corporate character as a valuable insubstantial key for success.
The international business environment can be defined as the environment in different sovereign countries, with factors exogenous to the home environment of the organization, influencing decision-making on resource use and capabilities (Morrison, 2011). Global business environment can created challenges for companies that are found to be linked to unethical business practices. This paper discusses the code of ethical conduct of Apple Inc. and issues faced by the company on a whole when it comes to ethical behavior. Apple is a manufacturing, distributing and selling company. They sell a computer software and technology to stores all over the world. Apple is one of the world’s largest manufacturers and distributors of technology and they operate in around 10 countries.

This applies to every business decision in every area of the company worldwide” (Apple Inc., 2015). This is the opening statement from Apple’s Business Conduct. Most publicly operating companies construct a business conduct or a code of ethics that is specific for that particular company. Apple’s code of ethics was written to express their most important principles and values.

Steve Jobs resigned as the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Apple and was replaced by Tim Cook who was the Chief Operating Officer (COO) before he was named CEO. Apple has approximately 92,600 full-time equivalent employees and an additional 4,400 full-time equivalent temporary employees and contractors.

The strengths of this document are that a Job Description is that it enables us to compare potential candidates to it, helping with the selection process and allows possible candidates of compare themselves with the job. Also, it allows candidates to know the relevant information needed about what the job involves and the responsibilities they will have. The documentation could be improved by the fact that you can lose an ideal candidate for another type of job, and the new employee can’t carry out a particular task mentioned In the Job Description. In conclusion, a job description would be used as a good method to help a potential employee to identify and understand what the job is and to understand the necessary information about the specific job that they are offering. In conclusion, a job description is important for candidates because a job description helps potential candidates to prepare for their interview.
The organization conducting business in the United States and globally that I am familiar with is Apple Inc. I will include an analysis of global economic interdependence and effects of international technology industry practices and agreements. The importance of demographics, physical infrastructure, social responsibility and ethics versus legal obligations of the organizations will be aspects I examine. I will include an analysis of cultural differences, effects of political systems and influences of international relationships, along with the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act of 1988, influence of local, national, and international legislation. Based in Cupertino, California, Apple Inc. has become one of the titans of the technological industry in the 39 years since it was created in the spring of 1976. This growing company employees over 115,000 people and has 450 retail stores in 16 different countries. With an annual revenue of $233 billion in 2015 Apple Inc. is the most prosperous technological company in the world. Along with its many retail locations Apple also runs the online Apple Store making it a truly global brand. Over the years Apple has expanded their product line; in its infancy the company specialized in personal computers but more recently the main product line is phones and tablets. Apple’s other significant products include computer software and other consumer electronics (iPod, Apple Watch, and Apple computers).
Globalism has resulted in a number of changes for the economic viability of the modern corporation. As both the developed world evolves in their new market structure, the developing world adds to the pressures and changes necessary to do business in the contemporary environment. Doing business is not the same worldwide, and the citizens of the global village realize that there are different cultural norms, behaviors, and expectations that stakeholders of all types have when thinking about the modern corporation. Business ethics sets up standards for organizations to act in a way that may be considered right or wrong, or at the very least acceptable or unacceptable. As trade barriers are falling around the globe, differences in morality are gaining more interest regarding such issues as human rights, political behavior or even environmental conservation. The core purpose of a multinational business is to continue to grow the organization, find more resources, develop more product and convert new customers. Without fiscal advantages, organizations would not have the impetus to expand globaly greater profits, less regulation expense, tax incentives, larger universe of workers, etc. Multinational corporations do, however, need to keep in mind that customs, laws, and expectations may very well change by country, but that there are still remaining overall global moral standards of behavior (Mayfield, 2003).
