No matter what someone is always responsible for equipment in the Army. It goes to the highest officer to the lowest enlisted personal in the chain of command and back up again. Like in combat when there is a "code Red" the soldier knows that at a given and safe time he or she should get to the rally point, predestined by his or her chain of command, that way he or she and his or her equipment can be accounted for. Knowing if something or someone is missing you could easy look at the accountability report to see if it was there before. 2. APPROPRIATE PLACE OF DUTY. Being at the right place at the right time is particularly important, reason being is to make certain orders are carried out and to ensure a steady opt tempo. When a soldier is late or perhaps does not report at all to a place at the time ordered. That effectively compromises and diminishes the efficiency of which the task is to be completed. A Soldier 's consistency begins with his ability and discipline for being where he is ordered to be when he is ordered to be there. As simple as this task sounds it is often times the most difficult to achieve one hundred percent efficiency. Once again discipline comes into play as a major contributing factor, as well as infinite variables as one might imagine. However, one 's;
The importance of accountability, are being on time and in the right uniform. The main reason we have formations and that we are trying to keep account of personnel to know where everybody is at, at all times. I have learned in the past years that I have been in that being on time is the most important thing that you need to do. For one the accountability of personnel is major, it plays a big role in the deployment and the readiness of soldiers. I would have to say that I was wrong for not showing up at my appointed place of duty I should have gotten up and made it to the swimming pool. But in all things that have been done I have seen that accountability is the most important asset here for

To be early, is to be on time, to be on time, is to be late, and to be late, is out of the question. Being able to adhere to a given deadline in a group situation, demonstrates responsibility, time management, group cohesion, and progress. However, being that a group is a collection of individuals with separate lives, there are times when members of the group may be experiencing extenuating circumstances preventing the group from completing a task on time. In such a scenario, communication within the chain of command is essential. Failing to communicate problems that may arise, and inhibit group progression towards a task will result in failure to communicate the task, group division, distrust between the chain of command and the group,

Also every sensitive item or equipment is high dollar valued so if you lose it you will be hurting money wise by losing a grand or more easily right on the spot. And after that you can possibly do jail time from six months to a year and sure there will be rank taken away or something along those lines. You might even get an article fifteen after all that or maybe when you hate to pay for the lost sensitive equipment or item so these should be a main priority to maintain and know where they are at all times and are accounted for either battle buddy or maybe CQ desk or the CP if they’re not personally on you. Weapons are essential to keep intact because without your weapon you cannot defend yourself. If you any part of your weapon it causes you to lose protection for yourself. Then your team will lose protection from you if your needed, which in turn the platoon suffers from one person not being able to protect themselves from danger causes the whole company and eventually unit to lose a key piece of protection. Loss of ear pro is also another item not to lose if out on the battle field it can cause permanent hearing loss. Eye pro will protect your eyes from any debris from hitting your eyes during battle. A platoon counts on every piece of equipment used to make the mission smoother and able to accomplish if a piece of equipment comes up missing then the unit as a whole suffers. Also you want to use this duty in your personal life. It shows people that youre very dependable. This is not only a quality we use as soldiers, but as civilans as well. Punctuality is a very important part of military life for several reasons. one reason is that if someone is late for a patrol
Safety and Work Procedures- these two to me can run hand and hand. We do whats called "head count," it's like another term for keeping accountability on how many Soldiers that are on deck, and for safety reasons only, if an military personnel leaves his or her prospective place of business that person that is in charge should have accountability for those who work in there environment for safety procedures.
Being at the right place, time, and uniform displays discipline and supports the team. The consequences are more significant than the rewards. It can either make everything very simple, smooth, and efficient when you fulfill your duties. It will hinder, and remove other soldiers from a mission when one fails to uphold their responsibilities. The responsibility of attendance and proper attire is not difficult nor complicated. Communication is also a key part that supports the efficiency of the two. It is the responsibility of a soldier to ensure they are adhering to their leaders guidance.
Accountability by definition means the quality or state of being accountable; especially : an obligation or willingness to accept responsibility or to account for one 's actions. Accountability stems from late Latin accomptare (to account), a prefixed form of computare (to calculate), which in turn derived from putare (to reckon). While the word itself does not appear in English until its use in 13th century Norman England, the concept of account-giving has ancient roots in record keeping activities related to governance and money-lending systems that first developed in Ancient Egypt, Israel, Babylon, Greece, and later, Rome. In the United States Marine Corps it is very important to hold yourself accountable for all actions especially true the longer you are in. To myself it refers to the obligation of an individual to report formally to his superiors for the proper discharge of his responsibility. It is the answer ability of a subordinate to render an account of his activities to his superior. The person who accepts responsibility is accountable for the performance of the assigned duties. As such being late to work is a direct violation of accountability. Forgetting ones required materials for work may seem small and harmless but overall may develop into bigger issues if not dealt with accordingly.
Both responsibility and accountability differ from authority in the respect authority can be delegated, while both accountability and responsibility are universal and cannot be. First formation is especially important because your superiors can report to their First Sergeants and Sergeant Major how many soldiers are prepared to train and how many are tasked out. Accountability doesn 't just mean showing up on time. It means responsibility. It means that if you fail a small part of the mission (to be on time), you must be held liable for your failure. For example, you were supposed to depart for a mission outside the wire on a deployment. You are late to the convoy brief, the convoy brief must be given to you again, everyone is late to mount up, and the convoy misses its SP time. The Infantry unit waiting to link up with your convoy for additional protection might get ambushed because your convoy is late. This is all a result of the single event of a soldier not arriving on time.
Respecting senior officers is imperative in order to maintain good military order up and down the chain of command. Punctuality is key aspect of one’s Army career. Tardiness can affect the mission of the command. In such an event as recall, one cannot afford to be late in carrying out their assigned tasks, for the repercussions can be severe to ones fellow soldiers as well as to the integrity of the unit. Being late to ones place of duty can affect the quality of work being done in the work environment.
When the fundamentals have been applied, you are now what makes up a Soldier. You are a Soldier that makes up a team, and on a larger scale, an organization. It’s important to understand that once the Oath of Enlistment is taken, and you have joined the United States Army, you must take your battles lives and the overall mission into play when making decisions. Your decisions can either effect your team in a positive way or a negative way depending on the actions you take. Disobeying orders can lead to corrective action. Which can take valuable time away from the person assigning the corrective action as well as the person receiving it. Not only does it take time to write up and discuss the corrective action, but also conducting the corrective
One of the most Important self disciplines the US military stresses is timeliness. In order to meet hard times and avoid unwanted corrective training, a soldier must develop a sense of time management. Punishment for failing to meet designated hard times can range from corrective training, such as writing a paper, or harsher punishment, such as article 15s, for more serious offenses, like missing movement. In order to properly manage one's time a system and routine must be devised based upon expected time requirements, such as the time it takes to get to and from point A to B, and extra time must be allotted to allow for unexpected time sinks, or obstacles with a potential for a variance in time consumption, such as construction, or the security gates when entering post. After deciding upon a
