MM325M1 Part 2 When trying to draw conclusions about a particular population, such as adults in North America, it is important to collect data from a sample which adequately represents that population. Once you have the data, you can examine the variables to ensure the sample was, in essence, broad and representative enough of that population to serve your purpose. For example, in evaluating data you may use to answer questions about North American adults, you would want to check the data for whether there is an adequate proportion of people across all 18+ age groups and from each of the countries within North America. Assessment:  Suppose you are conducting a preliminary analysis for a project at a global non-profit organization. Leading members of your team have identified the World Values Survey as a potentially useful data source to leverage a broad range of cultural insights for the project. Visit the   World Values Survey   website and select Wave 7. You have several choices of statistical data files to download from the website depending on your choice of statistical analysis tool. Download the Wave 7 dataset in the correct format for the tool you will use, and review the dataset codebook for an explanation of what each variable represents. (Tip: Organize and save your data for efficient retrieval and use in another discussion). Examine at least four variables of interest. Three of these variables must be demographic, such as age, citizenship, education level, or socioeconomic status (codes Q260-Q290 in the codebook). Construct a memo to the head of cultural affairs in which you address the following: 1. What you are studying and why. 2. List the four variables, including the column name for each, as is shown in the data, and a brief description indicating what each variable represents. 3. How can you those variables to assess the value of multiculturalism and diversity in a global environment? What types of visualizations can be used to assist with that assessment? Review   guidance of a part 2   for this competency assessment.
