1 Biblical Worldview: Initial Assignment Abby Rayner School of Education, Liberty University EDUC 360: Foundations of Education Professor Berkemper February 12, 2024
2 Biblical Worldview: Initial Assignment Write a 100-word paragraph response to each of the following questions. For each question, support your views with Scripture. What is the basis for reality? Does God exist? This is a very deep and hard question because each and everyone's perception of reality is different based on their desires or expectations. The basis of reality is independent because reality does not depend on our minds apprehension of it to continue to exist or to maintain its character. (Philosophy Now, 2021). Our society has different beliefs on what reality is. To many, reality is what is right in front of you and what you can see. Whereas to Christians we have faith in God, which is believing without seeing. You know that God is with you, but he is not physically here with you. In 2nd Corinthians 5:7 it says, For we walk by faith, not by sight. (Biblegateway.com, NIV) Many believe that since we cannot see God, he does not exist, but as Christians we know he does because of faith and knowing He is always with us. What is the basis for truth? The definition of truth is that which conforms with fact or reality. (Clay, 2020). The truth is based on facts. The truth is not determined by personal feelings, popular vote, the scientific consensus, or any human Court of Appeal. (Clay, 2020). In the Bible in John 1:1, it says In the beginning was the Word and the Word was with God and the Word was God. (Biblegateway.com, NIV). The Bible is God's Word that was given to us, so we could follow it closely. The scripture in John proves to us that the Bible is God's word, God is truthful, and His word is true.
