Megan Winterton Learning Activity 2 Site 1: BYU Religious Studies Center This site is owned and operated by BYU, and it includes resources that can help with gospel study, teaching, and learning. It contains links to many resources and media types such as podcasts, videos, conferences on religious topics, religious publications, and more. One thing that I noticed that could help me with my study of the New Testament is the “My Gospel Study” tab. This part of the site contains links to resources like Come Follow me, information of gospel topics, and religion podcasts that relate to the New Testament and can help me learn and find new information. Site 2: LDS Scripture Citation Index This site is also operated by BYU, and it contains a list of different scriptures that have before been cited elsewhere. I thought this site was interesting because when you click on a scripture or block of scriptures, it shows you a list of all of the talks or church publications where that passage has been cited. I think this resource would be very useful in my future study of the scriptures because I could use this tool to find talks related to certain scriptures or topics when doing things such as writing a talk for church. Site 3: The NET Bible This site is operated by bible.org, and it is a resource that allows you to see the scriptures side-by-side with other study notes or resources. I think this resource would be interesting to use in my study both in this class and in my future study because it would allow me to compare the wording and implications of the different versions of the bible, see notes on the verses, and write my own study notes. Site 4: Bible Hub This website is owned by The Online Parallel Bible Project. There is also a mobile app version of this site. This website allows you to read 25 different versions/translations of the bible, and also view them side-by-side. Similar to The NET Bible, this resource would be helpful for comparing the different versions of the bible to see differences in the meanings and words. Additionally, it also has links to different sermons from Christian pastors, Hebrew translations of some terms, which could help eliminate some confusion caused by translation. I could use this research in my future study to help me better understand the words and implications of the Bible. Site 5: Y Religion Podcast This resource is owned by BYU, and it contains a list and links to religion podcast episodes by different church leaders and BYU professors. This could be helpful in my study if I wanted to explore more of a topic or hear another opinion on something to help broaden my understanding of gospel topics. This would also be a great resource if I just wanted to listen to something uplifting during my week or on a Sunday.
