ABA 628: Behavioral Change Procedures Goals My personal goals for this course ( ABA 630: Developing ABA Interventions) are to give myself a better understanding of what ABA terminology and how it relates to what I am currently doing in the field as well as what strategies I can use for my future in the ABA/BCBA field. Also, to get a better understanding of what concepts are in play when doing anything that will help change the behavior of my clients. Because I have only been in the field for almost 4 years, I feel like there are a lot of more information and practice that I need to have and do before I can be ready to be a BCBA. Every day, I try and make new information and strategies work for me in ways I can understand and implement. Using the information that I obtain from this class is one step closer for me to getting where I want to be and that is becoming a BCBA and continue working in the ABA field in either clinical settings or hopefully get to have my own business/daycare. After the completion of my master’s and hopefully becoming a BCBA, my goals are to continue working at my current company or another one where I can show what I have learned and use my years of experience working with children for over 13 years both in the non- ABA field and 3 years in the ABA field. I also plan on hopefully being part of a new business with my current co- workers in opening a day-care and having it specialize in ABA in which I will be the lead ABA director while my co-workers are directors in other aspects of the daycare. My current job has something very similar, but this “special” day-care only caters to children on the spectrum. If that is something “old” then there is the possibility of opening one or two in areas where they lack this type of service. Also, with this course, I hope to find my way to be more familiar and confident with doing APA formatting and the use of these different programs
(graphing and SAFMEDS) that will help me through this program and work my way to be a BCBA. I also want to be able to maintain meeting AIM with my SAFMEDS and be able to get full credit when it comes to the SAFMED assignments and the rest of the assignments that are due for this course. If I were to get assignments with missing points, I would love to be able to see what mistakes I made and be able to fix it and get full credit when I turn the assignments in again.
